Your ACT Score

Took SAT only, and remember doing quite well on the verbal but struggling on the mathematics portion.

This reality manifested itself again on the GRE when I noticed the Verbal section to be a bit challenging then found mathematics questions to be easy, tougher, what?, easy again. The graduated difficulty proved to me that mathematical skills in excess of rudimentary algebra are lost to me.

Looks like the average ACT score on the chatter is around high 20's low 30's, that is simply amazing! lol A foreign exchange student from Honk Kong named Wei Wei who went to our school scored a 36 on both the science and math portion. I cant remember what he scored overall, his reading was low. He graduated from Ohio State and now works for Intel in a very high end lucrative job. I scored an 18, took it once. It was high enough to keep me from being Prop 48, so I didnt care to take it again! lol

Which proves that the test must be worthless, lol

I think it's more (1) the OC isn't a representative sample (most people here went to college, and most are probably a bit above the average HS student), and (2) there is a self-selection bias in the reporting. Anyone who scored high wants to flock to the thread and brag, while people who scored low tend to stay away. This quite naturally shifts the range a bit higher.

Well there's that and then all the liars.

I got a 30 the first time, then a 31 the second. Wasn't going to take it again after that. I agree with FFT, most who will post on this do so because they scored high or don't care. I find it hard to believe someones life sucks so bad they will lie on an internet message board when no one knows who they are.

I took it once and got a 30. I didn't want to take the SATs after that, but my parents made me and I got something like a 1250. I should have retaken both, but I didn't and it cost me entrance to Notre Dame.

Took it once, got a 28. Was happy with it and didn't retake.

I took it once as a sophomore and got a 22. At the time (and probably still true currently) Wright State was accepting people with scores in the 17-18 range so I left it at that.

Excuses are like assholes.... You sure you didn't mean to hit the 1 instead of the 2?

Where is the excuse? I was just stating I am bad at that type of testing. 27 isn't even that bad, and the fact I had a very high GPA played in the fact I didn't need a score in the 30s, lol Nice fail. I hate to agree with redneck chiefs, but you are trying wayyyy tooo hard.

    Yep, I am totally devastated.

Why the hell would you even apply somewhere with a 9? (I guess maybe most people who get a 9 don't think that far ahead.)

Average for the state of Ohio is a 21.8. Seems like most people on this site are well above that

I highlighted your excuse, could you not see the bold? Yes, saying you're a bad test taker is a cop out and an excuse, so it looks like you failed at reading...probably why you did so poorly on the ACT too.

Honestly I'm shocked. Esp with all the Marietta grads on this site bring down the avg.

Yeah the point was the highlighted part wasn't an excuse. Not surprised that went over your head though. Once again, 27 is not bad, in fact it is considered pretty good. Also you are a complete idiot if you think one test is a reflection upon your intelligence lol.
