Storage Wars....ever watch?
-
thavoiceNot a real good show but some reason when I am tuning around that is all that is interesting on tv.
The one dude is a real asshole. One guy is a collector and rarely finds anything cool.
One guy seems normal.
Then ya have a younger guy and his wife.
Brandi.
Some reason I have a boner for brandi -
BR1986FBIs this the show where they bid on storage lockers?
-
thavoiceYeah. Its kinda lame. Very lame actually.
-
BR1986FBAnother one of the girlfriend's reality show "gems." I've seen it. The old guy (collector) never seems to get anything good. The one guy is kind of a dick.

Steel Valley FootballMuch of it is staged. They place certain rare items in units beforehand. So is the other storage unit show called Auction Hunters on A&E but I like it better.
I just went to my first storage unit auction on Friday and it was pretty cool. It was very much like the shows. About 100 people showed up. -
september63Ive watched this and didnt think it was that bad. It is for sure stage for TV though.

Steel Valley FootballSome of this show is staged, much like Auction Hunters on A&E. They sometimes place rare finds in the units for the sensationalism.
I went to my first storage unit auction on Friday. It was very much like the show. About 100 people showed up for the bidding. Units went from $80-$1200. The expensive unit had a set of 22 inch wheels/tires I valued at about $3-4K retail. Also a surround sound system and about ten boxes of vintage jordans and a bunch of other stuff. They should make a killing on it. -
Steel Valley FootballOops my first post didn't show up at first. Spotty service here.
-
mcburg93I used to go to these all the time years ago. I bought a few and got some really nice items. The biggest key to any of the storage units is location. If its located in a good part of town more then likely gona have good stuff bad part of town expect the opposite. To say its completely set up I call bs I seen about 100k in antiques behind a ton of trash they guy only paid a hundred for the unit. needless to say after that he was buying everything. Kinda sucked and i got out cause of it
-
Steel Valley FootballI never said completely set up.

All of that for $1200? Why didn't you buy it? -
Steel Valley Football
We had money to bid, just not $1200. We didn't even try when we saw what was in it cuz we had two SUVs so anything we bought had to fit in those. Thats not the right way to do it - you need to have a big truck waiting or at least available because there were box springs and mattresses in almost every unit that had to be pitched. There's no disposal on site so you have to transport the junk along w the treasures. You have 24 hrs to remove the stuff or you start paying storage fees.justincredible;802486 wrote:All of that for $1200? Why didn't you buy it? -
hangonsloopyI enjoy watching it. Dave is a douche though.
-
se-alumShow annoys me for some reason, but I'll watch for a few minutes when I come across it, because of Brandi.
-
said_aouitaEh, sometimes it's an OK show.
By chance ya seen that new restoration show? Think it's the same channel. Pretty fun. I like American Pickers best of these type of shows. -

Gotcha. I was checking on AuctionZip and there are some storage auctions down here on Friday. It starts at 10 or 11. I get off around noon so I may try to catch a little bit of it late. -

-
thePITmanI watched my first two episodes ever earlier tonight and thought it was pretty neat, but hammed up a bit too much.

Curly J
That one is pretty cool too. The one guy reminds me of Reed Timmer from Storm Chasers. He looks like him and get all excited and loud like him.Pick6;826675 wrote:Did you ever go to this?

Reed Timmer is awesome. He's wayy cooler than Josh and Sean Casey on that show, this guys r a bunch of pussies -
SykotykI watched a few episodes. For a reality show, it's one of the better ones I've seen. And Yeah, I've got a thing for Brandi.
-
YtowngirlinflaI watch it all the time. Dave and Darrell sell at the swap meet I go to in San Diego all the time. Mostly sell junk furniture and office crap.
