Wow. I was definitely unaware of that.

I used to live by him and the Hulk down in Clearwater/St Pete, and my coworker's daughter used to hang out with him. From what she said he liked to party hard...and liked the ladies.

    RIP to the Macho Man

I'm sure that's all just a rumor. That "supposedly" took place in what...'93 I believe? That would have put her at 17. I just don't buy it. Reason for Vince's hate was because of the way Macho Man left WWF. They had a hand shake agreement, which Vince did plenty of in the past, that at the end of his contract in '94, Savage was going to retire and not go to WCW. As appreciation for Savage's WWF service, when he was going to retire he had Savage put on the cover of WWF Magazine. Then Macho Man shows up on WCW. Going against their agreement, and after he showed up on WCW television, that's when the WWF magazine came out with Savage on the cover. So kind of another slap in the face. Plus it's been speculated that Macho Man was the reason Slim Jim, who was a big sponsor of WWF, left WWF and started sponsoring WCW during Vince's steroid trials.

Wow, other than Savage all were 47 or younger.

Here is a video about some of the young wrestlers who died, as of 2007. A lot of noteworthy wrestlers, and this montage is not inclusive of those who have died since.

I may be wrong on this but I think there's only one Von Erich left and he's no longer in the business.

Kevin Von Erich. He was the oldest of the bunch and retired long ago.

The Von Erichs are a story in themselves. They are the sons of Fritz Von Erich, a legendary wrestler and promotor of World Class Wrestling of out Texas. At one point, that organization was huge, just a step behind the WWF and the NWA. Within the Lone Star State, the promotion was enormous. I recall watching events at Texas Stadium where they would sell the joint out.

Fritz was such a legend and there was a lot of pressure on his sons to carry on the family name. Yes, three of them died by suicide, but all three reportedly had drug habits. David died first. He was predestined to be the best of the Von Erich clan. It was already in the works for him to win the NWA Championship from Ric Flair, and the plan was for him to take over as the star face of the organization. There is controversy out there whether his death was actually a drug overdose vs. suicide. There are reports Fritz paid some people off to change the autopsy.

Chris died next. He had a known drug habit. He was the yougest and smallest of the Von Erich clan. His father was a large man, his brother David was 6'7, Kerry (known as the Texas Tornado in the WWE) was built like a greek good, and David was billed as under 5'9 and 180 pounds. In addition to the grief from David's death, it is believed he could not live up to all the success his father and brothers had in wrestling and took his life.

Kerry was last. The Texas Tornado was involved in a serious car accident in the mid 80s, he injured his leg and they had to amputate it above the knee. At the time of this accident, Kerry was the biggest star of the Von Erichs. He was wildly popular and took the world title from Ric Flair (the spot was supposed to go to David). Still grieving from his brothers death and now with a loss of his limb, Kerry turned to drugs. What's more, he continued to wrestle with a prosthetic for about 10 years. As you can imagine he was in constant pain both physcially and mentally. He eventually took his own life.

I think there are some books out there on the family. They story is something that would make for a greek tragedy.

I don't ever remember David's death being a suspected suicide. I was always under the impression the dispute was whether it was a drug overdose or a stomach/intestine condition (which was the official ruling - can't remember the name). MIKE was the one who killed himself first and was the first to die after David. I believe he replaced David in all the six man matches and ended up having a bunch of health issues...may have even been in a car wreck or something. I want to say he had some legal issues as well.

I think it was a few years after that when Chris killed himself. He just pretty much sucked as a wrestler.

One of them had toxic shock syndrome, but I can't remember which one (I don't think it was David, but I can't remember why that was important to the story unless whoever it was died from it?).

According to a source, the recent allegations made by WWE Hall of Famers George "The Animal" Steele and "Rowdy" Roddy Piper concerning Vince McMahon's soured relationship with Randy Savage have nothing to do with the WWE chief's animosity towards the late wrestler.

Piper alleged last Friday on Twitter that Savage slapped McMahon in a bar. Steele then suggested in an interview that McMahon held Savage in contempt for abruptly jumping to World Championship Wrestling in 1994 because he considered him "almost like a son."

Steele said, "I think that what happened with Randy, when his career was winding down with the WWF, Vince McMahon just loved Randy. After all everything Randy had done and he took him under his wing, and he wanted Randy after the ring was over with for him, he wanted him to be our spokesperson. He was traveling with Vince all the time. Randy was almost like a son, they were really tight. And then one day, we were at a TV meeting, and we got word that Randy, without calling Vince, had left and jumped to the WCW. I had never seen Vince McMahon broken before, he was crushed. It hurt him big time and I don't think he ever got over that. I think that's the real problem to be honest with you."

In late 1996, Savage's contract with WCW had expired and he briefly negotiated with WWE regarding a possible return to the organization. According to the source, during this time frame, Vince McMahon told him he would take back Savage "with open arms," but would "never ever" take Hulk Hogan back.

McMahon's animosity towards Savage during the final years of the wrestling legend's life stemmed from an incident that occurred following 1996, or "something he found out."

"Any explanation of why Vince hates Savage that has to do with something that Vince would have known pre-1996 is clearly balderdash," the source stated. "Either something post 1996, or something he found out after 1996."

There is a long-standing rumor indicating that Savage was involved in a sexual relationship with McMahon's daughter Stephanie during his final year in WWE, therefore explaining his animosity towards him (which McMahon learned years later). While the allegation has never been verified, top WWE officials believed the rumor to be true.

"I think that the reason is the same reason that everyone says. It's the reason everyone in (WWE) says. It's the reason that is the only one that makes any sense. So I think that's the reason. I can't come up with any other reason. I don't know. I mean, I've heard that reason from so many people that are not internet rumormongers, I mean people who - all I know is that within the company as far as the top people, they all believe it, and nobody knows for sure, because it's never brought up.

"When I first heard the story I didn't believe it because I thought it was just some story, but then, and I mean even when people who are very high up in that company, after they left the company, would tell me that story I still didn't believe it, but, you know, after a certain number of years when it's just, you know, ideas are brought up for Randy Savage and the reaction - there's something real, real bad because, let's face it, I mean, I couldn't count the number of times Vince said he would never do business with Hulk Hogan, and he always does. So, I don't know...Actually, as time goes by, more people talk about it trying to say that it didn't happen.", the source said.

Add a little clown/grease paint makeup (like the old gif on here) to Savage's face to complete that visual....
