Pirates 4

Is anyone else pumped for this movie?
  • BR1986FB
We'll be seeing it. Didn't get to "Priest" this weekend. Wasn't aware that it was in 3D and they don't do matinee prices for 3D. I like to avoid the night crowds.

No. Should have stopped with Pirates 1 (good movie). I wasted nearly $50 on the plot-disasters that were the second two. If it turns out to be good I'll rent it a few months from now.

I was waiting for someone to downgrade 2 and 3. I keep hearing people say they didn't think they were as good but I really didn't see that much of a down fall from the first. I really like the series so far and I assume this one will be just as good. I won't miss Bloom or Knightly.

BR, I missed Priest also but will probably go see it this week.

You didn't have to wait long. The plot in 2 and 3 was incomprehensible. It didn't make sense, it was one convoluted twist and doublecross after the other. It was was like the Matrix, great first film, and the writers just blew the story after that.

Hell, I'd be glad for someone to explain the plot in 2 and 3 in any manner.

I am pretty pumped for it. I think 4 will be amazing. MB I agree with you about Pirates 2 but I think they did a pretty decent job for 3.

I also still need to go check out Priest and Thor as well.

Also guys if your girl wants to go see Something Borrowed don't go unless you really need to make up for something stupid you did. Normally I'm the type of guy who likes chick flicks and stuff but this movie was terrible even for me.

    This. /thread.

Will I see it? Probably. Am I pumped for it? Not at all. The third one was not that good. The second one was bearable. I think they should have just stopped and this one, I fear, is going to damn near ruin the franchise name.

I'll probably end up going to see it, cant be any worse than Priest was

I guess I am in the minority. I don't see where 2 and 3 were that bad. Oh well. To each their own I suppose.

    HB, Priest was pretty bad?
  • Barry Badrinath
I was so disappointed in the second one I didn't even see the third one. Shame after how much I enjoyed the first.
  • bigdaddy2003
Ha ok so maybe I am a little slow today but I am trying to figure out where people think the films went down hill?
  • End of Line
    I might go see it.

    Doubt I will though.

Second two movies were some of the worst shit I've ever seen...I'd rather watch Pirates 1 three times over again then move onto those disasters.
  • bigdaddy2003
I disagree but to each their own I suppose.

I mean the action was pretty cool. They didnt use the 3d aspect that much at all(compared to Thor) and the ending was kinda shitty and left room for a sequel. I wasnt very impressed...but it kept me entertained for a few hours so eh it wasnt that bad

I thought this was about the other "Pirates" series. The "plot" and "action" in those movies is worlds better than anything that happened after the original Depp movie haha

Bigdaddy, you seem to like a lot of movies, regardless. Id say you just dont judge them as harshly or critique as much as others.

Im a pretty big critic for my films, because if I spend money, I want it to be very well put together (writing, plot, acting, and everything).

I loved the first, and hated the 3rd. Initially I hated 2, but I think 3 was so bad that I now think 2 was simply bad, and I dont hate it lol.

As for the 4th, I think it will be the second best, but I am in no way, shape or form pumped for it.

I love movies and I love to go to the movies. If I only went when I thought a movie was going to be great I would rarely get to go so that is mostly why I don't critique them as much as others. I respect others opinions that 2 and 3 weren't that good but I was entertained by them. In no way do I think they are great movies but they entertain me.

Ha not quite. They might not be the Godfather but they aren't that bad. Watch the sci-fi channel on a Saturday night and you will see a bad movie.

yeah I get that. Just you have to take what we say as bad with a grain of salt. You will probably like it and be entertained. Im in the TV/Sport Broadcasting industry, so I critique a lot. Most movies, imo, are entertaining. If you are entertained for 15 bucks or whatever for 2 hours its a good deal. I personally dont like to go to movies I dont really think Ill like. I may be let down more (see Robin Hood...fuck that), but I guess it comes with the territory.
