http://kotaku.com/5801226/the-modern-warfare-3-files-exclusive-first-details-on-the-biggest-game-of-2011Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is coming Nov. 8, 2011, Kotaku has learned, delivering with it mammoth battles that engulf a dozen cities around the world including New York, Paris and London.
Multiple sources have shared details of the game's story, art, sounds and game modes with Kotaku, noting that the game will reshape the landscape of the Call of Duty franchise, bringing an impressive number of eclectic settings, deep multiplayer gaming and a story that ties up nearly all loose ends from previous titles, including the final moments of key figures in the series' history.
The game opens moments after the cliffhanger ending of Modern Warfare 2 with the U.S. struggling to stave off a surprise Russian attack. The single-player campaign will ping-pong players around the world as they take on the multiple throwaway roles as a Russian Federal Protective Services agent, SAS Operative, tank gunner, and AC-130 gunner as well as key characters from previous installments and new recurring characters. The game will feature about 15 missions, kicking off with the invasion of Manhattan by a Russian force and wrapping up with a final encounter in Dubai.
The plot, as described, seems to be keeping with developer Infinity Ward's habit of delivering complex, short sequences punctuated by lots of gunfire and scene changes. The game also has players take control of several vehicles, returning gamers to the AC-130 gunship as a gunner and plopping them down in a tank as part of a U.S. Armored Division.
The single-player campaign, which appears to wrap up most of the unanswered questions and character fates of the first two Modern Warfare titles, also introduces new characters who appear to be destined for future Modern Warfare games, especially two Delta Force operatives codenamed "Frost" and "Sandman" -
McFly1955With so many games coming at the end of this year, I have little interest in another COD.
Battlefield 3 will be better, plus this new COD is supposed to come out within a week of Skyrim. Skyrim will own my life from 11pm to like 2am for a month. -
bases_loadedYeah give me Battlefield...Im done with COD
-
Hb31187I heard this last battlefield was supposed to be better than MW2 as well. I quickly returned BFBC within a week

This. I haven't played any of the recent COD's or videogames for that matter recently but I am going to build a PC just for Skryrim. -
The BossYeah...give me a break with the Battlefield BS. Fell for that story once, won't do it again. COD blows away any competition thus far, surprised if that changes this year.

i have to agree...i watched that video and it looks fun but.....plus i like the online play not campaign anyway. that being said i might give battlefield 3 a try -
McFly1955Yeah, it is just a preference thing.
I still play Bad Company 2 and consider it to be way better than Black Ops or MW2. Some people just enjoy the run and gun arcadey feel of COD, and I don't as much as I enjoy Battlefield.
I've bought and played every COD that has been released since COD2, and I always reach the highest level, then I'm sick of it and sell it. I'll still probably pick up MW3. -
I Wear PantsBattlefield's online is much better than CODs and it you know, actually has depth to it. I understand that some of you guys aren't smart enough to understand how to play Battlefield (what with complicated ideas like gravity affecting a bullet's path over distances) so you've got to stick with COD.
COD4 = High water mark as far as the quality of COD games go. -

i have never tried any of the battlefield games so no im not stupid.....i only started on MW2 was my first COD game...i am considering trying this next battlefield tho. -
I Wear PantsGenerally when I call people on the internet stupid with a broad statement I'm just looking for a rise out of people.
Nothing wrong with liking or playing COD, it's fun. It's just way too arcadey for my tastes.
I'd suggest picking up a used copy of Bad Company 2 if you're interested in the next one to sort of get a vibe for how the series plays. You can get them pretty cheap anymore (think I got mine for like $20). -
HereticI'll want to play it just so I can finally get revenge on the main Russian guy from Modern Warfare 2. I mean, during No Russian, I shot more people in that fucking airport than all the actual terrorists put together and STILL got killed at the end. That shit ain't right!!!
But it'll be more of a rental than anything. Something to rip through and then forget about. For a good campaign, Crysis 2 is where shit's at. -
hoops23No other Battlefield has looked as good as BF3 does. So for those of you talking about "seeing this story" before, bullshit.
COD was getting worse with each release until BLOPS brought back the COD 4 feel... I haven't played COD in about 2 months. Just got tired of the brainless style of play. I like tactical shooters and game where people actually use some resemblance of team work.
BF usually brings that to the table, plus the realistic damage to the environments is something COD should have implemented long ago. -

LMFAO...no shit Sherlock, it should, the others were made years ago. I used to have a TV that resembled a wooden box when I was young too. Doesn't change anything, FOR THE TIME they looked awesome. Then I played it and it sucked ass. It is just a preference thing, I don't care which one you like or don't like. But Battlefield has been incredibly disappointing based on all the hype. And correct me if I'm wrong but this thread is about COD, correct? Bottom line is, when a game comes out and challenges a legend and says its better, if it's not better then it's a disappointment. And sure some people like it better, but I would say most didn't.
I'll try the new Battlefield but I sure as shit won't waste my money buying it this time around. And Battlefield isn't any different from Duty as far as stupid people who can't work together are concerned. -

Have to agree with this. When BF2 came out it was the COD killer. Then that quickly died down and MW2 still became the best selling FPS. People still play COD. Many don't continue playing BF with the same loyalty.
BF3 does look good. And so did BF2. But the multiplayer is much different than COD. You can argue that it is more tactical, blah blah blah. But if you are used to COD, you are going to prefer that style. -
hoops23Hb31187;767826 wrote:So dont play TDM
Yep, because that's the only mode I ever played.. SMH.
I hardly played TDM.. Mostly Domination or something else.. Even then, people run off on their own and play as if it's TDM...
COD needs a little bit of an overhaul and hopefully COD 3 provides that. -

That hurts coming from an established idiot as yourself. Why don't you go get owned by Capone some more.
Don't come at me with that weak ass bullshit. -
I Wear Pantshoops is a moron but he's right in this case.

BORIStheCrusherI haven't yet played any of the Battlefield games but heard mostly good things about them, and the new one looks pretty sweet so I might finally check it out. The first MW was my favorite out of all of the past 4 COD games, I still play it every once and a while.
