Because of the Frozen 4.
Winner of the West plays the Midwest winner and the East winner plays the Northeast. -

Ok thanks. Seems like they should just be flexible with which regions play eachother like basketball. Why can't it be East vs. West and Midwest vs. Northeast.Tiger2003;719990 wrote:Because of the Frozen 4.

Well the Frozen 4 is already set. The last #1 seed was really up for grabs. Miami got that by winning the tournament. With Yale getting the 1 seed they had to put Miami in the northeast since they were te 4th #1. They try to get the #1 vs #2 in the National Title game.
UND was the 2ND overall #1 seed so they got to stay in Wisconsin to play. -
sportswizuhrdAny predictions for the Frozen Four? I am in a pool and doing some research and based on previous results, #1 seeds don't usually make it to the FF.

Teams will play a 20-game conference schedule, playing each other team 4 times. Means each team will have room for ~15 non-conference games on the schedule. My guess is Minnesota will keep ties to Mankato, SCSU, NoDak and UMD by playing each year in non-con.
And the teams from CCHA will still get 1-2 games/season from Michigan, OSU,Michigan State... -

I really believe the top 4 teams all have a great shot. I really like Yale and North Dakotas chances. UND is playing very solid hockey right now and are full of confidence. The one thing i dont like about UND draw is it looks like we will have to beat Denver once again. To me Yale has a easy bracket an should punch their ticket to St Paul with no problem. I will be very surprised if they don't get there.
I definitely will be pulling for Nebraska-Omaha hoping they can pull off some upsets and get to the Frozen Four.
I think New Hampshire will come out of there bracket. Playing at home is always nice and definitely think they could pull the upset vs Miami (Oh).
Good Luck to all WCHA Teams!!!
GO SIOUX!!!! -

I think you were looking over my shoulder when I made my picks this morning. I picked Yale/Notre Dame and BC/No.Dakota. I picked New Hampshire mainly for the reason that they are at home. I believe that I read that Yale has faced the other three teams in their region so the familiarity will be there but I still think they will go to the FF. Once at the FF, it was a crap shoot for me. I went with Yale and BC with BC repeating. -

gorocks99Gonna go with another HE team to win it all this year. NoDak will win in the mullet competition, however
-
swamisezI am sick of playing BC in the ff. NoDak can't seem to get that monkey off their back. Hopefully they don't pull a Minny and get beaten by a Holy Cross type. Want to see them get back at BC.
