Trueblue23Yea but it's cool enough to be here ha
-
SpeedofsandThey got it right at #1 Vince Carter. I posted a link of his high school dunks in the who's your favorite player thread. I like #39 David Thompson was so fun to watch. I remember one game at N.C.St. a guy undercut him and his ankles hit the rim.

Crimson_Streakno lebron over Delonte west? that was just plain awful
-
hoops23Lebron on the Western conference all stars (mainly Dirk)
LeBron on Damon Jones
LeBron on Barbosa
LeBron on Tim Duncan
LeBron on KG
LeBron on Rasheed
LeBron on Zo
LeBron on Luol Deng
Should be good -
SQ_CraziesGlad to see they were smart enough to put LeBron's dunk on Damon Jones over the Duncan dunk. Sounds crazy to even think they wouldn't but people went nuts about that dunk over Duncan (a nice dunk, but wayyy overrated IMO) Not that this is an easy sort of list to make. And D-Wade over Andy at #6, haha I knew if this was recent enough that had to be top 10. Just plain dirty.
#1 is #1...there is absolutely not argument that anyone could have against that.
The only problem that really stood out to me with the list, was VC over Zo not even making the list. WHAT?!
-
said_aouitaI have concerns with MJ being on a dunk list at #10.

2quik4u
yea that deserves to be on the list somewhereSQ_Crazies wrote: Glad to see they were smart enough to put LeBron's dunk on Damon Jones over the Duncan dunk. Fly4FunI love the call on the LeBron over KG!!! When that happened in the game it was ridiculous!
-
hoops23"LeBron James with no regard for human life!!"
lol, that was great stuff. -
StiffmanVinsanity! If he's not the best dunker ever....I don't know who is.
-
RotinajMan #2 was weak. Howard didnt even attempt to do anything but take a charge. That VC dunk is definitely the best dunk ive ever seen.
-
wildcats20People jump completely over 7 footers "thousands of times" ??
That dunk is nasty though, mainly because it's a white guy. -
wildcats20The half cross over that MJ did in #4(I think, against the Hornets) was the definition of nasty.

SQ_Crazies
LOL, what?! You can't honestly be serious. 6'1<7'0, period. I'd love to see one other example when a guy jumped over a 7 footer, it has to be out there since you claim it's been done thousands of times. And then the dunk you claim is the GOAT is basically the same dunk but over a PG...please tell me that was sarcasm and I'm an idiot for biting on it.ccrunner609 wrote: There is no way that is the best dunk of all time.. VC dunk has been done by thousands of players. That Dunk should of never made the list
GOAT Dunk right here:
http://best.complex.com/lists/The-50-Best-NBA-Slam-Dunks/tom-chambers-vs-mark-jackson
And as for VC being the best dunker ever, I don't know about that. Depends if we're talking in-game or dunk contest or what. He's definitely up there, but I'll tell you what--as far as dunk contest dunks go, Jason Richardson has done some of the nastiest dunks ever. -
Upper90http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fr%C3%A9d%C3%A9ric_Weis
Weis is 7 foot 2...VC jumped OVER him....that's far from routine, IMO. -
Upper90"a French professional basketball player, who is famous for getting dunked on by Vince Carter"
How funny is it that THIS is the opening description on his wikipedia? haha. -
Upper90
Now I love MJ as much as anyone, but no one can say that was better than Carter's dunk.
He jumped OVER...literally OVER a 7 footer. -
OSH
Yeah...and Tony Parker sucks too...ccrunner609 wrote: Just seeing how the guy is playing for France should void out this dunk.
The dunk on Manute Bol was nice...but Manute could hide behind a light pole.
Vince actually went clear over the top of Weis. Jordan still went to the side of Manute. If Jordan woulda touched Manute, he woulda snapped him off at the waist.
The original link was alright. But anyone can compile a top 50 list of whatever. But the fact that LeBron wasn't in the top 10 is ridiculous. You almost have to do a top 50 dunks for every decade. It's too hard to pick an all-time top 50. But Vince's is number one...no doubt about it. -
SQ_Crazies
LOL, Mark Jackson is NOT 6'6. And anyways, let's just say he is 6'6...6'6<7'2.ccrunner609 wrote: 6'1"?????? Dude he is 6'6"
As for jumping over 7 footers.......MJ dunked on Manute Bol. THat 7'7"
MJ dunked on a 7'7 guy, not OVER him. I really don't understand how you can argue this, but I'm guess you're just trying to be THAT guy since I already said it can't be argued that this is the best in game dunk every done. -
Stiffman
Whatever...........ccrunner609 wrote: ........if you argue against Jordan you lose all credilbility. -
Upper90I may take Jordan's TOTAL body of work over VC's.
But unless you, or anyone can produce a singular MJ dunk that's more impressive than VC jumping over a 7 footer, then I don't even know how it CAN be argued that an MJ dunk is better than the VC one over Weis.
You're arguing for MJ, but not really producing anything to back up said argument. -
Upper90I was born in '83, but you're skirting the point, and quite well, I might add.
Vince Carter jumping OVER. OVER. OVER. (I keep repeating it, because I'm not sure you're getting it) a legit 7-footer, is more impressive, even than that Lawson dunk.
That Lawson dunk is more on par with KJ over Hakeem. Mbenga getting dunked on by Griffin earlier this (pre)season was better than the Lawson, IMO.
If you can show me an in-game dunk, where someone clears a 7-footer, I would easily consider it.
Come on, I kind of get the feel, like SQ mentioned, that you're just trying to be "that dude" that's arguing against what's popular, just because it's popular. -
Upper90Not to mention, speaking technically, and I think anyone who's played the game will appreciate...Mbenga was beaten on that play, yes he got dunked on, but he lost on the first step, and was far enough behind that Lawson had a far greater advantage by the time he jumped.
Still a nice play, but it's not going over the top of someone.
