How big is your bird?
-
Belly35This Thanksgiving we are down sizing.
Traditionally we get a 24-26 pounder this year only a 20 pounder.
Same amount of people (7 adults and 4 children) but some are eating earlier that day at the other parents homes and we are not serving until 8:00 so most will not eat as much this year. -
cbus4lifeDownsizing your turkey...
Freaking communist. -
SocietyGot a big ol' 14 pounder. Only going to be my wife, brother, a straggler and myself.
-
justincredibleProbably go with a 16 pounder or so. I am running over to the turkey farm to pick it up tonight.
-
Swamp FoxWe have already had one "Thanksgiving" on Sunday and our turkey was just under 22 pounds. There were five of us but we gave liberally to our son and his wife and our dogs so there is little left. Our 2nd "Thanksgiving" is on the "correct" day and will not be at our place so I really don't know how big the turkey will be, but there will be a number of people, so I can only surmise that it will be in the 25-26 pound range. To answer your question about the size of my bird seems almost too personal for internet publication.

GoChiefsNormally about a 16 pounder...getting a 20 pounder this year..gotta make sure there is enough left over for turkey salad!
-
Fab4RunnerWe are having 2 18-20 lb birds. One deep fried with a cajun injection and one roasted. Can't wait! We have more food than anyone I know on Thanksgiving...my Mom is crazy.

Agree with ya there..I have actually never been a big fan of Thanksgiving. Just nice to have the whole family together..that's the only good thing about it.Fab1b wrote: I am actually not that big a fan of Thankgiving feasts. You probably eat tacos more than you eat a turkey dinner...so really you'd be doing more of what you usually do.Fab1b wrote: I like hanging out and all but shake it up some!! I actually said let's make tacos this year and be different, no one liked that idea! -
