Shy of cigarette induced cancers, no one chooses to get cancer, and no one should have to die financially to live physically. Let taxes pay for it, and with the right company running it, it could be made very well for dirt cheap.
That's a very nice thought, but it will never happen. We could collect 100% of everyone in the U.S. paycheck and still not have enough money to provide everyone with free drugs for stuff like this. Also, there would be huge problems with a society that has some how found a way to make it so that no one dies from cancers or other illnesses. We already have massive overpopulation issues on this planet, if no one ever got sick it would be extremely worse. It's a nice thought, but we aren't some Star Trek society were we can provide for everyone on Earth.
More steps could be taken to make costs more reasonable.
No doubt taken by the government? Ha, like they know how to cut costs.
They could reduce the time for patent which gives one company a monopoly.
Why not just get rid of patents all together? After all, it is for the common good.

Did anyone else think of the movie "I am Legend" when they first read this thread?

This is terrific news. My dad died of cancer when I was ten, and he had leukemia which was mentioned in the article as being one of th cancers killed. Just amazing. My sister got lymphoma two years ago, and the Cleveland Clinic beat it, so awesome things happen in Cleveland!

I highly doubt drug companies would inhibit a cure for cancer. The people who found the cure would be rich, and heroes. People cannot stop the spread of information forever should they cure it and try to cover it up.

This thread makes me very sad, these drugs should be free?

Well shit, you just killed any incentive to produce new drugs, this is why people with low IQ shouldn't be allowed to vote. Also, women should not be allowed to vote, EVER.

    Sleeper is an idiot.

They should be able to make money off this. Although it'd be evil to price it out of most people's reach.
  • Pick6
There would be no pricing out of people reach..it is all about the supply and demand. Obviously it would be expensive, just like a heart transplant is now or something.if the price is too high and no one is buying, it will be lower. Why is nobody bitching about the high costs of cancer treatments now?

This would be awesome if this comes to be true. I have had a grandparent die from cancer. One of my best friend's mother is currently fighting cancer, for the second time.

Why? They made the drug, they should be able to reap the benefits. The drug itself is probably very cheap to make, but they need to pay for all invested into inventing the drug, and use the rest to garner a profit.

Can't have it both ways, do you want new drugs or do you want cheap drugs?

People bitch about the high cost of cancer treatments all the time.

And seriously I just watched the video and anyone who thinks this shit is real is delusional as hell. It's Columbus State, sorry but they need money for funding and why not make up some bull to get it.
  • SQ_Crazies
Most people are so naive to how the world really works. Might not be pretty but who ever told you it was going to be? If you can remember, go find them, punch them in the nose and never listen to a word they say ever again.

You have no ideal what you're talking about here.

I'm not going to lie, the medical industries aren't the most ethical, but the drugs COST A TON of money... This is why Insurance is key..

See how this all works out?

    Columbus State? Speaking of delusional.

....and you do realize the Cleveland Clinic verified it as well, right? Oh, that's right, you have selective hearing. No wait, the Cleveland Clinic, since it isn't Ohio State's hospital, is garbage?

Like someone already mentioned, this was verified by the Cleveland Clinic which is one of the most respected hospitals in the United States.

You really have no clue what you are talking about.

Not only the Clinic but the National Institute of Health researchers tested it and the CancerX worked to kill the cells.

Wow a typo, whoop-de-doo. You guys are completely clueless as to how the world works, but I'm okay with that, more money for me. =)

I think Sleeper is sad that someone beat Ohio State to it.

I'll take Ohio State's top notch academics, endless research funding, and world class hospital over a glorified community college any day.

Oh wait, scratch that, an actual community college. LOL
  • SQ_Crazies
I see what you're saying and agree with you sleeper, but that isn't the argument. This guy may have just done something greater than any OSU alum ever has or ever will.
  • cbus4life
Cleveland State isn't an actual community college, i don't think...

    It is a 4-year university.

What could have been if Craig Krenzel actually went into the field he graduated from. Dude is smart.

I honestly don't know and really don't care. This thread really isn't about knocking Cleveland State, more the motive behind this "finding".
