Let's hope that it is true. Too many lives have been lost (including several very close to me) due to cancer. I know SOMEDAY it will be as treatable as the flu...sooner, rather than later.

Now then ... If Cleveland would learn how to play football,,,,,,,

Would be the greatest news this earth has seen in a long long time!

How is snotbubbles the only one taking this seriously? I feel like I'm in the twilight zone!

If true, this is amazing news!
  • gorocks99
Promising, but we'll see if it ever gets to human trials.
  • tk421
I'm extremely cynical, so I'd be shocked if this drug, if it pans out in human trials, ever makes it to the market. Way too much money to be made from cancer, as terrible as that is.

If true, this scientist from Cleveland State is about to suddenly become one of the most respected/beloved people in the world. Would be arguably the crowning achievement of the an entire generation.

Will we see it in our lifetime?? I hope, as my wife is battling an extremely rare form of cancer.

Pretty pathetic that this world chooses money over saving a HUGE number of lives.

What is this suppose to mean? It takes a huge amount of money to come up with new drugs. Are they supposed to be free? Who pays for them?
  • j_crazy
    sweet shit.

You can blast me for this, but yes, this should be free. Shy of cigarette induced cancers, no one chooses to get cancer, and no one should have to die financially to live physically. Let taxes pay for it, and with the right company running it, it could be made very well for dirt cheap.

That's a very nice thought, but it will never happen. We could collect 100% of everyone in the U.S. paycheck and still not have enough money to provide everyone with free drugs for stuff like this. Also, there would be huge problems with a society that has some how found a way to make it so that no one dies from cancers or other illnesses. We already have massive overpopulation issues on this planet, if no one ever got sick it would be extremely worse. It's a nice thought, but we aren't some Star Trek society were we can provide for everyone on Earth.

More steps could be taken to make costs more reasonable.

They could reduce the time for patent which gives one company a monopoly.
