Breowns will make the playoffs if....

So 7 wins gets in over 8 wins?

2(at least) of these 3 teams will have 8 wins: Bengals, Steelers and Ravens.

One of those will be the North winner. The first wildcard will be the Colts. The second wildcard will be the other team with 8 wins.

The Browns with 7 wins would be on the outside looking in.

The Browns have to get to 8-8 to have a chance.

Sorry to Justin...Gochiefs...Jmog...and Queencitybuckeye. I screwed up.

Not if Baltimore goes Miami Hurricanes on us all and bans themselves from a bowl game.

Actually...my opening OP was correct...in explaining how the Browns could get in. As for the rest...eh...not so much.

The Browns could get in at 7-8-1 if they tie the Redskins or Broncos, the Steelers/Bengals tie, and they finish ahead of the teams in the mix from the other divisions :D

    HOF thread.

I've looked at the NFC and the Reams have a good chance to make the playoffs if they win out and only 6 teams are above them.

Good luck getting Justin to do that. Took 3 months to get a community voted on thread in there.

Say somehow the Browns, Bengals and Steelers finish the season 8-8, if that happened the Browns would get the nod wouldn't they. If the Browns finish 8-8 that means they have the tiebreaker bc they went 1-1 against cincy and 2-0 over Pit. That should get them in right? Like I said, assuming they all end up with 8 wins and the Jets play themselves out of hunt. Right now the Browns sit at 9th and need to get up 3 more spots...passing the Jets, Bengals and Steelers.
  • Ironman92
I don't know how often the Browns have won at Denver but if they win that and finish 8-8......let them be the effin #6 seed. No one deserves it right now.

    Again...

@ Denver and the Ravens laying down vs Cincy are the two problems.

The Browns would hold the tie break over the Jets, yes.

It goes to this tie breaker(for the Jets/Browns): "Best won-lost-tied percentage in games played within the conference."

Which means the Jets(still to play 3 AFC teams, they go 1-2) would be 6-6 and the Browns(still to play 2 AFC teams, they go 2-0) would be 7-5 in the AFC.

    I think.

OK...Here is what I did on Yahoo's generator...

    Week 15...
    Bengals lose
    Browns win
    Steelers win
    Jets win

    Week 16...
    Bengals win
    Browns win
    Steelers lose
    Jets win

    Week 17...
    Bengals lose
    Browns win
    Steelers lose
    Jets lose

    That puts the Browns in.

Yeah I did the same thing on ESPN's generator and got the same thing. It's possible, but we need a ton of help.

Before you continue hammering on footwedge's lack of math skills, let's not forgot it's the same guy who doesn't understand how percentiles work, and then tried his damn hardest to spin his mathematical incompetency.

no it wasnt. you left out the jets and the bills. the browns, steelers and bengals could all finish at 8-8 and not get in depending on what buffalo and new york do in the final three

The LOSER of the Pittsburgh/Cincy game.....can also LOSE their other 2 games....righttttttt? If they do, then the Browns will tie them with identical 7-9 records. Correct?

You all are fuggin dolts.....the winner of the Pitt/Cincy game wins the effin division....the Browns gain the second playoff wildcard....along with Indy. With a 7-9 record!

And to think.....you run this fukcin site.

Actually no, first you forgot about Indy and when we told you that you acted like you remembered Indy. Then you went on to forget about Baltimore as well.

Every post was wrong except for the apology.
