OSU Fans ...are you really pissed yet?

  • Tiernan
As the season starts to wind down and you see the Buckeyes are at least worthy of a BCS Bowl do you find yourself really really wanting to go find Tressel, Pryor et all...and just punch all those SOBs right in the mouth?

I mean sure we were all pissed when the sanctions first came down but now when nobody left on the team had one Fk'n thing to do with what they are being punished for I wanna yank Tressel by the sweater vest and kick his balls in. Lying Hypocrite Bastard.

Not pissed at all. It's in the past.

I've moved on. I'm over it and excited for whats to come!

No. If it didn't happen, we would have Meyer, Braxton wouldn't be anywhere close to what he is, and I doubt we'd be undefeated.

Yeah you gotta point there ETB...don't mind me i;ve been drinking since Friday and shooting at bottles in my back of my property so i'm just pissed all around today.

I think OSU should have took the self imposed bowl ban last year so that they would have been able to play in one this year. Fucking idiots running that university
  • j_crazy
Smith. He should've self disciplined last year. Fuck head.
  • sleeper
Not mad. The allegations and ensuing sanctions have only brightened the light on the superior academics rather than the sports culture that most people associate with the University. Adversity is a good thing.

No without it we wouldn't have urban meyer

Tressel was a terrible coach. No way we would have ever won a B1G title if we still had him...

    This is all true.

    A couple of points:

    1. There is no way that the NCAA would have allowed teh OSU to back out of the BCS game last year. Too much lost revenue. And if they did back out, The NCAA would have hammered them another year of no post season play.

    2. If the Buckeyes were BCS eligible. They would get hammered by ANY legitimate BCS bowl team this year. This team has the worst defense that I can remember this century.

Certainly the worst defense of any 10-0 team I can remember. I do think they are getting better.

This. I was pissed when they decided to go to a bowl last year.

The people i'm pissed at would be those in charge of not self-imposing a bowl ban last season...

    Another perspective...

    http://www.elevenwarriors.com/2012/11/15906/undefeated-ohio-state-what-is-and-what-could-have-been#more

Ohio State’s situation isn’t as easy as those on the outside might think, however. If Ohio State had self-imposed a bowl ban on the football program a season ago, it wasn’t guaranteed to be ineligible this season. In fact, opinions on the matter are split.
The NCAA has refused to comment on the subject, saying the association doesn’t deal with hypotheticals. Experts on the inner workings of intercollegiate athletics have said it is nearly impossible to conceive how the NCAA would have ruled.
One part about the case that is often forgotten is Ohio State’s status as a repeat violator due to the violations committed under former men’s basketball coach Jim O’Brien. Combined with the severity of the football program’s violations and a look back at history – Alabama and USC both received multi-year bans – one can make the case for the NCAA giving the Buckeyes a ban in 2012 even with a self-ban in 2011

    Gene Smith.

I'm just pissed that he's still allowed to be employed by The Ohio State University.

I've said it many times. Fuck. That. Guy.

This is true. He really seemed clueless as to what was going on and what the potential repercussions might be.

But, you know, it's great and all to be 10-0 with no chance of a postseason game this year. Just like it was great to get a lame duck bowl game that was almost immediately struck from the books a couple years ago. I guess there's no guarantee that the team would be eligible this year, regardless (as vball's link says), I'd rather have done the "hard, immediate self-ban" WITH the key players at the heart of things there to suffer the result. At least that way, there'd be the chance of eligibility this year.

If Jimmy "The Liar" had walked down the hall three years ago after getting the first e-mail and turned in the Tat - 5 immediately those idiots would have probably been suspended for the first two MAC games and none of what transpired would have ever happened. Are we better off with Urbie at the helm? Yeah...we most likely are.

But I think this current squad is pretty damn good now that Partly Cloudy is back on the bench where he belongs and its a damn shame we won't see these guys tee it up against another BCS team in January.

We get to be undefeated and not get embarrassed in a BCS game by a complete team.

This is a win freaking win all considered.

Agreed. I think that they are just fortunated that the league is pretty down this year. WIth no pressure of the B10 title or NC talk I think that has helped them. Dont underestimate that sort of pressure.

If they would actually play in a NC game I think it would be a big time rout.

OSU was nowhere near a BCS game last year lol

    This makes no sense.

    1. So the NCAA would have been pissed if OSU self-banned for last year because of the lost revenue for the BCS system, so the punishment would have been to do another season bowl ban and more lost $$$$?

    2. Miami v. OSU 2002. Anything can happen.

Lets see how you feel sitting in front of the TV on Jan 1 watching two teams you don't give a Fk about and thinking "What if...?"
