    Looks like the Illinois state senate and house are going to override the governor's veto and will end up raising taxes. Just kicking the can down the road to avoid the inevitable.

    LOL, seriously. The correct math is they increased rates 120 bps, or 32%.

    Still, that's still a relatively low income tax rate. But they have high sales tax, and high property tax. I've also read they want to slap a "luxury" tax on carried interest if the Fed's don't close that "loophole" (which would be historically stupid).

    Smartest thing they could do is pull their heads out of their ass on a casino in downtown Chicago. That would probably bring in $1B a year, maybe more if you include increase tourism and convention business.

    Hilarious. And I believe they also raised corporate taxes, by 35%, from 5.2% to 7%. They are completely doomed. With math experts like that rep, it is no wonder they have $14 billion in unpaid bills. Staggering stupidity; seems like it afflicts democrats and liberals 'majorly'.
