Answer truthfully, you were all for Gore not accepting weren't you.
gosh a ruddies before 2000 I had consistently voted Republican or not voted in Presidential elections, I felt they were stronger on foreign policy. Reagan was too right wing for me, so I didn't vote those years. In 2000 I had supported John McCain during the primaries. When Bush used false smears to defeat him in the primaries, I chose not to vote in the general election or in the 2004 election. Some years ago Rolling Stone had an article by Robert Kennedy Jr. claiming the 2004 election was stolen by the Republicans, using Ohio election results as proof. I did some research on those results and based on that wrote to the local papers showing that their evidence did not hold up to scrutiny.

    COMPLETELY DIFFERENT SITUATION

Gore was walking to give his concession speech...then was told there was an automatic recount in Florida. When he realized he couldn't win he conceded.

Trump is saying before election day that even if he loses by a large margin( looking more and more likely) he won't accept the result. I have to agree with Van Jones on this....it's one of the most unpatriotic things I've ever heard
  • Dr Winston O'Boogie
Trump's ego is threatened by the thought that he will likely lose. So he uses the oldest schoolyard tactic there is - "Oh yeah? Well it doesn't count 'cause you cheated." Pathetic.

He did not say he "would not accept the result". He said he would "look at it at the time".

Obviously no American should accept a result if it is tainted by fraud, and that includes the winner and the loser, and all of us.

I don't trust the media and hate their lack of integrity, but being upset about this is truly pathetic and makes you part of the problem.

If Donald wasn't such a shitty ass candidate and debater, he could have easily KO'd Hillary numerous times last night. Wallace threw some softball questions that set Hillary up and Donald failed miserably to capitalize. Be mad at Donald and especially the GOP for being complete failures for yet another presidential election.
    This.

Trump is disappointing at best when it comes to debates. When he loses, it won't be election fraud or media bias, it will be because he's straight up the worst candidate ever.

Both candidates are pretty shit but I'd take HRC 10/10 over the embarrassment that Trump is.

Why couldn't he have said that barring fraud that he will certainly accept the result? Had he said that NO ONE would've had a problem with his answer

Admit it Quaker....that answer made him look really really bad

Al Gore, speaking from the White House the week after having lost the general election, explains why he refused to concede the race:
"The effort that I have underway is simply to make sure that all of the votes are counted, and when the issues that are now being considered in the Florida Supreme Court are decided, that will be an important point. But I don't want to speculate what the court will do."
Even after facing a number of lower court losses, Gore said he remained optimistic.
"I don't really feel" the odds are stacked against me, he said, despite admitting feeling like an "underdog."
Gore said that his voters were not given sufficient access to voting sites. Speaking of black voters specifically, Gore said he was in regular contact with Jessie Jackson and Julian Bond to discuss voter suppression.
"I am very troubled by a lot of the stories that have been reported," about blacks being discouraged from voting, Gore said. "Whenever you have allegations of those kind, that is a matter the entire country ought to take seriously."

the root of the question is completely stupid and has nothing to do with the politics at hand. Shouldnt even of been asked. Neither of these 2 have a political or military machine to do anything about it anyways

Actually if you read it he proved mine.

Gore, while speaking PC wise in the WH, was pushing for the law suits in Florida and not accepting any results and the rulings kept getting appealed instead of just "accepting it" like you want Trump to do.

By they way, I think Trump is an idiot in this regard just like I thought Gore was. However, if you think the two situations are really that different then you are a partisan hack most likely.

gosh a ruddies a self centered loose cannon like Trump has already suggested to his well armed adherents that on some issue there is a second amendment solution to the problem.

If Trump were to somehow win, a lot of Hillary supporters would be singing a different tune about "accepting the result"

lol pretty much, and the gore example is pretty much spot on. It was pretty evident that Gore had no chance of winning and he kept pushing regardless. Pretty much started the great blue/red divide in this country.

Well, there is the minor difference that the 2000 race was super-close to the degree it wasn't exactly rocket science to predict some degree of butt-hurt on the loser's part, while for this race, people would have to ignore polls, predictions, etc. and essentially detach themselves from reality to think at this time that Trump has any sort of legit chance to win.

To me, that's the difference between the two. Trump currently seems likely to lose by a lot, which adds an additional few levels of pathetic to his whining about things being rigged against him. Unless "rigged" really means "people in general don't like you because you're a loud idiot".

Trump is just being a crybaby I won't deny that, but if you are a liberal (former supporter of gore) and you are placing yourself on a pedestal then that's just hypocritical at best.

I still see people with "REELECT GORE!!!" Or "GORE WON" stickers on their cars. I would also say it's safe to say that 90% of the liberals I have dealt with are still not willing to admit that Bush won that election.

The Gore/Clinton crowd NEVER accepted the result. They and all the libs spent 8 years telling us that Bush was an illegitimate president; that the election was stolen, and everything Bush did was de-legitimized by the left wingers. Hell they even said the supreme court was rigged. To this day, they don't really accept the result.

And now we have Clinton complaining that somehow the Russians are rigging our election, and she goes on and on about it ........... yet no one in the left-stream media mentions that. Where is barack; why isn't he telling HER to stop whining about the Russians rigging the election? Rather, he and the media twist and spin a comment Trump makes to fit their narrative so they can continue to attack him.

Incredibly, many here fall right into the trap. The dems continue to use every inch of the Saul Alinsky's Rules for Radicals: accuse the other side of doing exactly what you are doing. Sick mofo's.

I only caught about 10 minutes left night, but it's hard to argue with the fact that Hillary should be disqualified based on the fact if she was ANYONE else, even a 4 star general....she would be on her way to prison right now. That point can't be argued with.
