Secretly, I bet, she had to be horrified, as anyone over the age of 50 is seeing the slippery slope of the legalization of abortion come to fruition. That Colonel Sanders defends PP comes as no surprise...the man is a flaming socialist so you already know what his moral standards are. I know if my girlfriend got pregnant right now that we would definitely take care of it, because neither of us are at a point in our lives to be raising a kid.

So to avoid being a huge hypocrite, I cannot say I'm against the concept of abortion.

Abortion should not be an option and quite frankly should be a crime. There are many people who can't have kids, abortion is a slap in the face of those who cannot conceive. These people would love to have a child, unfortunately they fall into the minority. Maybe perhaps they ruffle some feathers and stake their claim as a minority group and get their way as any other does.

My wife damn near died at the birth of our child, our daughter was under 2lbs at birth. My wife's doctor advised her not to have any more children unless we adopt, so we took the proper steps and went with the IUD. We cannot have any more children of our own and to see human beings recklessly agreeing with abortion sickens my stomach. Just imagine if you aborted a child because "you weren't ready" and that was the last child of your own you could have had. I'm not trying to be a dick but for some of us this is a reality, and quite frankly it hurts to know that another child has been aborted because someone is not ready for a kid. The point of my previous post was to use whatever methods possible to prevent unwanted pregnancies, nobody knows what it's like until you wear our shoes.

Let's be real though. 95% of the people who have babies when they shouldn't be having them/don't want them are pretty damn stupid people. There isn't a very high percentage of educated people who are having babies without wanting to have them. Condoms aren't 100% effective, but there are a combination of other birth control methods that a couple can use that makes it pretty much impossible to conceive a child.

So you want to use your anecdotal reality as a basis for being against abortion, but I can't use my hypothetical as a basis for my belief?

I realize you're not trying to be a dick, and I'm trying to be delicate here because I don't want to be one to you either, but I find it a little unfair for you to use your personal feelings to defend your viewpoint while attacking my use of them.

I feel like I need to re-iterate this: I'm not trying to argue for or against abortion in general. That's a deeper-rooted argument involving a lot more than just my personal hypothetical.

I bolded the part of your post that explains why I'm not arguing for or against abortion in general. Abortion is a religious argument, a sociological argument, and a demographic argument (to name a few).

It's really too deep of a topic for me to jump into because whether you're for or against it, your viewpoint is absolutely not changing. That's why I only posted what my response to a hypothetical situation would be. I simply can't speak on anyone else's viewpoints of this topic but my own if I was faced with a specific situation.
