Is it time for Meritocracy in the USA?

  • Zombaypirate
For the uneducated on here look (though you probably will disagree because you fail to qualify) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Meritocracy

I think it is time to end the stupidity and begin meritocracy. Lets allow the best to run the country rather than the rhetoric masters. For those that disagree I am sure you HATE capitalism an economic system basically the same.

I would ask for serious discussion but, that is probably a waste of time with those already polarized and frozen.

    You of course.

Serious answer...Condi Rice. ...a moderate with a slight conservative tilt, she comes from humble roots. Very well educated, she has experience in many areas, foreign affairs being her strength. More than that she is not an ideologue and could be counted on to be fair to all points of view and give thoughtful consideration to the issues.

    Fire away.

She won't run. She's smarter than that.

spot on....She takes pride in her service, but disdains the political....hence, the perfect answer to this question.

Agreed. The best rarely even think about entering political arenas.

And you're one of the guys who has posted on and on about #bEnGHAZI!!!

If you held Condi Rice to the same standard for 9/11 that you hold the Obama Administration for Benghazi you would delete this post.

^^^really? I don't remember Condi or GWB flying off to Vegas.

Nor do I remember any statement resembling "What difference does it make". Nor do I remember any bald faced attempts to shift responsibility.

    +1

Also, it's hilarious people still bring up bush in order to defend Obama.

No they went for "Mission Accomplished" on a aircraft carrier, before thousands of Americans died because of their ineptitude.
  • HitsRus
They?.... I don't remember Rice there...nor have I heard her ever shirk responsibility. All people make mistakes and miscalculations...it is how they respond and act afterwards that determines their character.

This thread is about a meritocracy not a rehash of blaming George Bush.

I put Rice's name out there because she is a highly educated, thoughtful, fair and well intentioned person, that is respected by leaders world wide. You are free to nominate anyone you choose.

Agreed....especially considering that Dubya's approval rating is currently running about 6 points ahead of Obie.

LOL I didn't defend the Obama administration in that post. I merely reflected on the cognitive dissonance of one particular Republican Partisan who does not hold Republican and Democrat administrations to the same standard.

Exactly and I actually think Condi Rice was a fine public servant. It is you people who think Obummer and co. are those woeful incompetents because of a terrorist attack in Benghazi Libya that killed four people but don't see the irony that you think somebody who ignored evidence of an attack that resulted in 3,000 dead Americans on American soil is worthy of all this meritorious praise.

You're actually right. Condi Rice is a very competent person but I will SMH at the fact you have the gall to trump her up when you constantly deride people who didn't make half the mistakes she did.

" It is you people who think Obummer and co. are those woeful incompetents because of a terrorist attack in Benghazi Libya that killed four people"

It is because they LIED about it and blamed a youtube video.

We already covered that definitively. Susan Rice never blamed the specific attack in Benghazi on the video like you conservatives have invented in your alternate reality.

Yes she did, repeatedly. Lying about the situation doesn't make it correct.

What are you laughing at? It is precisely that this administration was/has not been held to the same standard following Benghazi that Bush/Rice were held to following 9/11....investigations that spanned years. I'll have more to say about this....later.
