My issue... Who provides a road and doesn't charge people to drive on it? Prices too high? Who stops another company from building another road right beside the other road? Wash, rinse, repeat.justincredible;1844944 wrote:But who would build the roads? -

How would this be different from any other kind of business enterprise?ernest_t_bass;1844965 wrote:My issue... Who provides a road and doesn't charge people to drive on it? Prices too high? Who stops another company from building another road right beside the other road? Wash, rinse, repeat. -

I get it, it's not an easy problem to solve, though I'm not sold that government is the only solution. I just laugh at people who default to that argument when you bring up government being force, taxation is theft, etc.ernest_t_bass;1844965 wrote:My issue... We're not talking razor blades. We're talking big roads from point A to point B. Do you let the market work like normal, and potentially have 5 different roads running side by side? Or do you let the highest bidder build the road, then prohibit anyone else from building another? Does the govt. select where the roads are to be built and then contract them out? Does the govt. pay the contractor, or is every road a toll road?queencitybuckeye;1844966 wrote:How would this be different from any other kind of business enterprise?
