Romney opening up lead, 49 - 45

jhay78Even the mainstream media are laughing at the Obama campaign's use of Big Bird (multimillionaire, one-percenter, lol) in campaign ads:
http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Journalism/2012/10/09/media-Backlash-Against-Big-Bird-Ad
At the same time Team Obama released a childish ad hitting Mitt Romney for daring to consider removing multimillionaire, one-percenter Big Bird from the federal government welfare rolls, the Romney campaign released a devastating graphic that shows that since his debate debacle, Barack Obama has mention Big Bird and Elmo 13 times but has not mentioned Libya or his plan to fix the economy even once.
A media that is obviously disappointed with Their Precious One's debate performance and recent collapse in the polls, is not at all happy with this silly and stupid Big Bird attack. Politico criticized the ad as small ball, NBC News described it as "absurd," and ABC's Rick Klein seems confused by the desperate smallness of it:
Team Obama makes a play using … Big Bird? The new Obama campaign ad uses a mock-serious tone to jump on Mitt Romney’s most famous debate line. It’s all in good fun, but the contrast may not be what President Obama is after, not now, not in this race. Romney is getting more serious by the day, with a foreign-policy speech and now Paul Ryan about to make the case for conservative fiscal policies. Romney marches toward Benghazi, while the president marches down Sesame Street?
Even MSNBC's Chuck Todd criticized the ad: "When is the Obama campaign going to stop talking about the debate? … They cannot seem to turn the page from the debate. ... Any conversation about that debate, I assume, helps Mitt Romney."
This is something we see very rarely in our corrupt media, a backlash against an obvious attempt by the Obama campaign to create a distraction away from the big issues of the day. Obviously, in the face of falling poll numbers and Romney's well-received foreign policy speech yesterday, Obama's Media Palace Guards just don’t see "absurd" distractions as good strategy at the exact time Romney is looking more and more presidential.
With middle class incomes deflating, four Americans recently assassinated by al-Qaeda, poverty and gas prices increasing, and the debt already saddling our children and grand children with mortgage-sized debt, Americans aren’t likely to be any more enamored than the media with Obama's non-stop "smallness." -

Nice source!. Are you really going to make me dig through the huff po to find a poll that says the opposite?
Why is it that you think the MSM is full of shit unless you agree with it? -
gutAt this point, there's very little the liberal media and their handlers can do to hide the Two Empty Suits from the people. Only the blind devotees can actually support Obama at this point.
I mean, just look at the response to last Wednesday. Romney dumped and piled on substance all over the place. Noticeable in the aftermath as Obama's team scrambles desperatel to recover is a complete absence of substance. That dog don't hunt. -

It's not a poll. It's a collection of quotes from MSM personalities busting Obie's balls for his stupid Big Bird ad. All the quotes are linked, although I realize that extra click is pretty strenuous. :laugh:Devils Advocate;1291136 wrote:Nice source!. When the polls are at least somewhat truthful, you see who is really winning.
When polls are more in line with my feelings, they're A-OK!!!! -

As for the MSM, when they tell the truth I agree with them. When they don't I don't.

Uh oh....the main Liberal go-to polling site has moved Romney ahead of Obama for the first time in the election cycle - http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2012/president/us/general_election_romney_vs_obama-1171.htmlTy Webb;1291314 wrote:Hmm...

If only they'd include the DailyKos and HuffPo polls, then these things wouldn't happen!! -

Truthfully...Romney can lead in any national poll he wants...as long as we lead in Ohio Romney can't winBGFalcons82;1291321 wrote:Uh oh....the main Liberal go-to polling site has moved Romney ahead of Obama for the first time in the election cycle - http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2012/president/us/general_election_romney_vs_obama-1171.html

gutLMAO...Now Obama and the Dems are defending Big Bird. They are talking about anything and everything EXCEPT their policies and how they will fix things. They are in a world of trouble. Just slammed full speed into an iceberg and have no idea what to do.

It pains me to jump to The Gibbster's defense here, but the crosstabs of the CNN poll make it appear to be legit, at least on the surface.BGFalcons82;1291321 wrote:Uh oh....the main Liberal go-to polling site has moved Romney ahead of Obama for the first time in the election cycle - http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2012/president/us/general_election_romney_vs_obama-1171.html

That said, the RCP average in Ohio is still within one point. Make no mistake...Ohio is tied.
In other news, Colorado turned Red today, joining Florida.
PA and Whisky are within the MOE. There's an outside chance that Ohio won't even matter. -

FootwedgeFor those that follow these things, pinnaclesports has seen the odds drop dramatically on Obama since the debate. No surprise here as Mitt slaughtered Obama.
Just seven short day ago, a wager on Obama required one to lay $4.13 to win a dollar. Today that has dropped almost in half at $2.35 to win a dollar.
http://www.pinnaclesports.com/ContestCategory/Politics/300~2A~+U~2E~S~2E~+2012+Presidential+Election/Winning+Party/Lines.aspx
So...the offshore bookie joints still list Obama as a better than 2 to 1 favorite to win. Romney's performance was no match for the disinterested Obama. Maybe Obama does not want to win. It was his worst public appearance/showing ever on the national stage.
Romney has provided enough ammunition with his crazy talk over the past few months whereby Obama should annihilate him in the next debate. But is he motivated to do so?
I might pop up the popcorn and check out the next one. I'm rooting hard for Romney to win.....just so I can enjoy the phony dog and pony show the GOP has put out there.
The real issues to me involve ending the international empire (completeley anti Constitution,) a return to fiscal sanity regarding debts, (if people think Romney will get this done they are really ignorant). Putting a stop to the cowardly and unpatriotic measues of the American corporate body in outsourcing our wealth to countries that absolutely cheat and abuse workers and their rights in places like China. The right complains about Obama's high unempolyment , yet their own views allign perfectly with those that enjoy windfall profitablilty in circumventing fair competition laws which would easily drop unemployment to 5%....a figure representing full employment.
Full employment yields huge pressures to raise labor wages for the middle class, improving their living standards, reducing national debt, reducing a ridiculous imbalance of trade that Americans suffer from, and would result in a happy body of Americans. and...revenues would skyrocket as they did in the nineties under Clinton.
Romney and the right do not view it that way.
Now...whereby I do want Romney to win, the dichotomy of such a result would be hilarious. "Fiscal hawk Mitt" and his side kick Ryan will champion the debt reductions as the GOP has been so wont to do. Yet these "fiscal hawks" are harping for a pretty robust expansion of the military. Alligned with a whole pile of Bush neocons, the "fiscal hawks'" true colors of being military Keynesianists will rear their ugly heads. Of course another mid east war will likely commence with our nation all in a huffy about the Muslin Brotherhood overthrowing our government. Yes laughing my ass off at that one, but the knuckleheads actually believe this to be true. -

Just saw the Big Bird ad, what an embarrassment. Childish, silly and pointless. And someone needs to explain to Obama the difference between a Chevy Suburban and a Ford Bronco.jhay78;1291098 wrote:Even the mainstream media are laughing at the Obama campaign's use of Big Bird (multimillionaire, one-percenter, lol) in campaign ads:

Do you honestly think Romney has ANY real chance of winning PA?

The average spread is 4.2, and the average MOE is 4.3. I have no idea if he has any real shot. I just know you're going to look pretty silly if it ends up being the case. -

fan_from_texasI don't believe Romney ends up winning, but two things that seem abundantly clear: (1) Romney substantially outperformed Obama in the debate, and (2) as a result of (1), numerous polls have narrowed, with Romney taking a very slight lead in RCP's tracking poll average. The bump may disappear, especially as the massive amounts of Obama money start rolling, but Romney is making this competitive.
