    Pretty much any state with oversampling having Obama up 6-7pts on average, and that's before Wednesday. Any state that looked comfortably in Obama's corner at +10, even more, is likely very much in play.

    I'll confess to not looking at the polls that closely because it's a lot of garbage-in, garbage-out. It's just something for the fanboys to desperately cling to because they know Obama has no business being in this race. That's why liberals are up-in arms after Romney just went out and destroyed months of their careful mischaracterization and misrepresentation of him.

    [LEFT]A new Rasmussen poll and early absentee ballot requests both suggest that President Barack Obama is losing his lead in Ohio after Mitt Romney’s performance in Wednesday night’s presidential debate.

    A post-debate poll revealed Obama and Romney are essentially tied in Ohio, with just one percentage point separating the candidates. Earlier polls had shown Obama leading by up to eight points.

    According to county data retrieved by the conservative nonprofit American Majority Action and reviewed by The Daily Caller, early absentee ballot requests also indicate Obama faces a tough battle in Ohio.

    Compared to 2008, a higher percentage of Republicans have requested absentee ballots in the five largest counties in Ohio this year. Summit County saw a particularly large 27-point increase.

    “Polls can be manipulated—real votes can’t,” AMA president Ned Ryun said in a statement.

    So far, Ohioans have requested just over half the amount of ballots they did in 2008.

    “So far, although it is early, the overall across-the-board direction of every single county in Ohio seems to be not just challenging the pollsters’ template that Obama is widening his lead, but is obliterating it,” Dr. Larry Schweikart, professor at the University of Dayton and New York Times bestselling author, told AMA.
    [LEFT]“Given Ohio’s voting history, if the numbers are even close after early voting, Obama will lose, and possibly lose big,” Schweikart said.

    Ohio Secretary of State Jon Husted has removed 450,000 deceased voters and duplicate registrations from the voter rolls in advance of the November election — the majority of them registered Democrats

    Ehh, actually the President was deeply involved with the 2008 crisis, as he met with Paulson a few times, and received briefings from Paulson's staff nearly daily.
    Also, Geithner got into his position and still had to implement TARP, as well as ensure the credit makers did not freeze up.
    Frontline did a great piece some months ago on the crisis, and how both administrations worked together to bring us from the cliff.

    Gas in Cali is being rationed and is closing in on $5.50 per gallon. What if the citizens of Cali take out their frustration at the polls on incumbents on 11-6-12? You can throw the Electoral College maps in the trash if Cali takes out their anger on Barry.

    1. If you have a decent job, you don't care
    2. If you have a bad job and can't find another job, the economy stinks
    3. If you are part time or unemployed you think the economy stinks

    So regardless of what the number is it doesn't matter if you can't find a good job or you are working PT or even worse unemployed.


    The Debates are going to decide the election. You guys are giving the American people too much credit to think these reports and specifics matter. The guy who wins on TV wins the Election.

    Given oversampling, likely a "comfortable" lead for Romney right now.

    The oversampling is a big deal, pretend like it isn't but showing 4-5% or more increases over the 2008 election demographics is laughable. Not going to come close to happening. He's not going to come close to matching the 2008 turnout, much less see that dramatic of an improvement (especially with another performance or two like Wednesday).

    That's all fair, but given what an absolute economic lightweight Barry is (especially then), he didn't contribute anything more to it than a signature. Well, and raping the bondholders in favor of his union constituents.

    To be honest, its not my theory. While I agree its a pipe dream, its not beyond the pale for citizens to hold someone responsible. What if it rises to $6 and there are lines at every station? Something to think about.

    North Carolina - Romney (R +4)
    Virginia - Romney (R +1)
    New Hampshire - Obama
    Iowa - Obama (O +4) (None in October)

    That would be 272-266 Romney wins. A tough, tough route. Romney would need to destroy Obama again in these debates; I wouldn't bet on that.

    I do know that at Ohio State, at least were I work in the Union, the sentiment was that Romney killed him and now 90% of my coworkers are voting Romney.

    The major gas price spike affects only 1 state. The Strategic Reserve is not set up for gas price pritection of 1 of the 50 states. By definition, it cannot be used. Cali has horridly high prices in large part due to clean air standards, so they wont be relaxed. To sum up, the oil reserves cannot be used. The people of Cali will pay at the pump for their green energy and "clea air" laws. Reaping what they sow. If Mitt runs some, "Obama stopped domestic production" ads and links the Keystone pipeline to $6 gas, he might have a punchers chance.

    Not sure I'd use lightweight. Paulson, his staff, and Bernanke all said Obama had a solid grasp of the gravity of the situation. And he was asking the right questions as to impact on the economy and possible solutions.

    Again, that doesn't fit your narrative or the rights, so it is forgotten or dismissed. That was a largely complex time that does not fit in the typical party line, sound bite box.
