Mitt Romney let's us know what he really thinks about half the country
-
BoatShoesApparently, a secret video from a Romney Fundraiser was leaked to Mother Jones where Romney has some candid moments:
http://www.motherjones.com/politics/2012/09/secret-video-romney-private-fundraiser
Josh Barro's take:
"Today, Mitt Romney lost the election"
http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2012-09-17/today-mitt-romney-lost-the-election.html
My personal opinion; I wonder if he'll be voting for BHO then since he's paid so little income tax and was dependent on economic rents for his business model wot work. -
BoatShoesNow, what I'm eagerly waiting for is for all of our Ohio Chatter conservatives to agree with him because we know this is what you all believe! "Finally, Mitt Romney is telling the truth!!!"
-
BoatShoesWorth noting...
In the mind of Mitt Romney, the man the Grand Ole Party has nominated for President of the whole United States apparently thinks that;
A person who:
-makes $60k a year
-is married with three kids
-tithes 10% to the Assemblies of God Church
-pays $3,000 in state and property taxes
-spends $1,000 on job expenses and tax preparation fees
-spends $5,000 on childcare expenses
is a moocher who can't hope to be convinced to be personally responsible for himself. -
fish82It's his "bitter clingers" moment I guess.
-
supermanObama already says that government owns them. BFD.
-
IggyPride00"My job is not to worry about those people."
Just brutal, for a guy who has had a hard time connecting with voters and is seen as a pawn for the elite, a comment like that is just devestating to have come out of his own mouth.
Regardless of whether what he said is true or not, this was an unmitigated disaster and will be run on loop until election day. -

Ha, touche. Suppose they both just could've said "SEC, SEC, SEC"fish82;1273718 wrote:It's his "bitter clingers" moment I guess. -
sleeperNot his voice. Totally fake.

Abe Vigodasleeper;1273750 wrote:Not his voice. Totally fake.
I cant beleive the Democrats would stoop this low to get the chosen one re-elected. -
IggyPride00Actually this may end up being Romney's "you didn't build that" type gaffe where all the adds will insert "my job is not to worry about those people" when referring to everyone but the 1% in TV ads. It will be totally out of context like with Obama's gaffe, but I can just see a ton of new ads featuring that tag line when talking about healthcare, SS, Medicare, the middle class...you name it.
The "you didn't build that" gaffe gained traction because of the underlying belief that Obama believes government is responsible for people's successes.
In the same way, this gaffe of Willard's will gain traction because there has always been the underlying current that he really wasn't interested in the well being of anyone but the 1% like himself.
The guy really can't get out of his own way. On the day there was all this talk about retooling the campaign and message now they will lose a few more days of the news cycle dealing with the fallout from this. -

He's not having a very strong couple of weeks, that much is certain.IggyPride00;1273766 wrote:Actually this may end up being Romney's "you didn't build that" type gaffe where all the adds will insert "my job is not to worry about those people" when referring to everyone but the 1% in TV ads. HitsRusI doubt the autheticity of the video too....much too easy to fake this under "confidentiality" everything is blurred no dates, no one on record to verify this. Everything just plays to democrat talking points....and that is just much too convienient. This smacks of Chicago style politics, so typical of the Obama campaign.
Good laugh though. -
pmoney25Congrats to the Republican party for screwing up such an easy opportunity to get Obama out of the white house by nominating this clown.

The Romney campaign has already released a statement about this and mentioned nothing about whether it was true or not. So I think that argument can be put to rest. -
believerThere are 47 percent of the people who will vote for the president no matter what. All right, there are 47 percent who are with him, who are dependent upon government, who believe that they are victims, who believe the government has a responsibility to care for them, who believe that they are entitled to health care, to food, to housing, to you-name-it. That that's an entitlement. And the government should give it to them. And they will vote for this president no matter what…These are people who pay no income tax.
So apparently speaking the truth is a big Romney gaffe?
Romney is right....this 47% won't vote for him. But another 47% will vote for Romney.
It will still come down to the "independent" 6% who will vote whether 4 more years of Obama's "You Didn't Build That" Socialist Utopia outweighs Romney's "47%" - um - gaffe.
Besides, the electorate has a short memory. 7 weeks is a long time in a presidential campaign. -
pmoney25Its not that what Romney said was factually incorrect or not. The issue is that the 6% you mention have friends and family who are in that 47%. It is idiotic to say that only people who will pay taxes will vote for Romney. I pay taxes and no way in hell I vote for this asshat. Of course Obama is terrible but Romney is also. I cannot stand the idea of either of these guys being president. Unfortunately one of them will.

It's real as can be, as Willard's camp already sent out a press release doing damage control that didn't try and deny it's authenticity.HitsRus;1273782 wrote:I doubt the autheticity of the video too....much too easy to fake this under "confidentiality" everything is blurred no dates, no one on record to verify this. It was apparently recorded in May at a $50,000 a plate fundraiser where camera's and reporters were supposed to be outlawed. -

Tell me more about all of those white m00cherz in teh south v0ting f0r Obamma to keep the gubmint gravy train rolling.Con_Alma;1273769 wrote:Indeed it is.

Wrong again. Those states with the most alleged m00chers with the exception of Florida are guaranteed to go Romney.believer;1273794 wrote:So apparently speaking the truth is a big Romney gaffe?

2kool4skoollol at not thinking it was him. Right, because a huge political misstep would have been so out of character for Romney.
He legitimately might be a worse candidate than Kerry. Probably the worst Presidential candidate by a major party in nearly 30 years. -

Eh....Mondale, Dukakis, and Gore were worse than Romney.2kool4skool;1273881 wrote:lol at not thinking it was him. Right, because a huge political misstep would have been so out of character for Romney.

Well whoever you waste your vote on certainly won't be POTUS so - yeah - go ahead and re-elect Barry by default.pmoney25;1273811 wrote:I pay taxes and no way in hell I vote for this asshat. Belly35So this campaign is not about facts and stats but it’s to hide from the truth and deny reality….. That what Obama bring to the table …. That not want I want …..
Poor (entitlement voter) will not show up this election ... they are worse off than before and the promise Obama made in 2008 was a lie. They will not take the time to vote again … no vote is a vote for Romney and that will be the message that will be sent..

i kinda agree w pmoney...i kinda lol at both sides of these arguments. politics nowadays are like the WWE they take turns taking power and keep people arguing but really all they care about is maintaing power and keeping the money flowing to themselves and their friends. all of them are crooks. your very foolish to think that any of them give a ish about you or this country. as long as they keep everyone divided and fighting then we never will solve any of the real problems which is the govt itself. our country is in the same boat no matter who you elect....just my two cents.believer;1273899 wrote:Eh....Mondale, Dukakis, and Gore were worse than Romney.

It is you who are denying reality. The largest percentage of those people who Romney disdains for not being personal responsible for their lives because they don't pay income tax are OLD WHITE PEOPLE on Medicare and Social Security. And they're by and large voting for Romney.Belly35;1273929 wrote:So this campaign is not about facts and stats but it’s to hide from the truth and deny reality…..
