I thought he was a socialist from Kenya:thumbup: Which is it?

He's a Marxist Socialist Muslim (in a sleeper cell no doubt) who "pals around with terrorists" and is going to impose Sharia Law on all of us in his second term.

Sound crazy? That's what he has been described as, at one time or another, and not just on this right-wing website. A lot of so-called political leaders here in America probably share at least one of those descriptions.

And, oh yes, he's got a master plan to take away all of your guns. Like most of Mitt's plans, he's not providing any details just yet.

He's from money. He hasn't worked a day in his life and that's why he is out of touch with the American people.

A good # of the people who are in that 47% have a job and pay payroll taxes, which fund SS and Medicare which you mentioned above. So, it would be logical to assume these people are taking personal responsibility for their own lives by working and paying into some sort of deferred benefit (ss/medicare).
You can assume that, but they're not "taking personal responsibility." They're contributing to a mandated program.

They also get all that money back down the road, so using it as part of their tax contribution is more than a little disingenuous.

so by working, they're in your opinion not taking personal responsibility? So the amount of money you earn is directly correlated to the amount of personal responsibility you've assumed? Those mandated programs serve a societal purpose, do they not?

    Working...yes.

Making mandated contributions to SS/MC doesn't qualify as "taking responsibility." I'd reserve that term for doing things like funding an IRA or 401k.

I'd reserve it for those who work.

Then you should have said that in the first place and left off the qualifiers.

You seem a bit paranoid. Are you okay? The man on the computer screen can not see you, you know?

Do I? Weird...I don't really feel paranoid. Your concern is duly noted though.

Now if bigdogg had been smart enough to actually post a picture of my house instead of my neighbors, then yeah I guess I might be. But for now all is well.
