Why do you hate corporations?

  they did not work dawn to dusk, 7 days a week, 52 weeks a year but the factory workers did work 6 days a week, 52 weeks a year. And most were forced to leave the farm because of overcrowding and immigrants were also stuck in the factories.
  
  you do realize alot of the year working dawn to dusk is no where near as bad as working a 14 hour day.

  I am not saying they had a good work environment, I am saying they choose it because it was better than their other work options. The immigrants found the factory work better than what they had in their native countries. The people that moved from the country choose factory work over being a farmer. Many people worked hard and obtained better jobs. Andrew Carnegie was an immigrant that moved here with very little, worked tough jobs as a youngster, and turned himself into a very successfull individual. I know that you hate stories like that because it goes against the class warfare that you belive in.

  There other option was starvation or for many of the immigrants death from the pogroms and other oppressions. Most moved from the country not by choice but by necessity as population increased by farm land did not as the frontier was ending. Carnegie is such a perfect example of I got mine, screw you philosophy so popular at this site. He made his fortune exploiting his workers and cutting their wages. Then the hypocrite used his fortune to rehabilitate his reputation sticking his name on libraries and such.
  The question should be why not more regulation on corporations that control goods or services of significance in our society.

  the corporations exploited people with no real choice. They overworked and underpaid men, women and small children. The dangerous conditions took lives, ruined health. When they had ruined their health or injured them, they were out the door with compensation or aid. That's pretty evil.

  Question if you choose. There were people that had no skills, didn't speak any English, knew no one in the US and had no money that chose an alternate path than starvation or working in a factory. Anyone could have done so. Those that didn't chose poorly.

  no sir, anyone could not do it. for millions no money, no skill and no support, which can include more than not speaking english and not knowing anyone in US, eliminated all possibilities but starvation or factory work.
