Not to nitpick, but the orginal 13 keys are hypothetical "true/false" scenarios. So in W's case in 2004, the #14 Mainstream media "key" would be false, which would count against the incumbent administration. In 2012, key #14 would be undoubtedly, unequivocally true.believer;879017 wrote:I concur.
By the way, Jihay78's #14 scenario is good only if it reads, "Mainstream media- The incumbent Democratic administration gets the benefit of the doubt on any potentially harmful or embarassing news stories regarding its policies and/or scandals, and can also depend on the media to dig up dirt on every personal, educational and political pimple, scratch, wart, bruise, bump, abcess, and cut the opposing party's candidate has had since birth." -

Who is "you guys", heck I'm willing to vote for Hillary if she can pose a threat to the disaster of a situation we have now. I might even donate to her campaign.Ty Webb;879286 wrote:You guys better hope you nominate Perry....because if you don't you guys are totally screwed. You do realize that she has stated multiple times she will never run for President again right?Manhattan Buckeye;879306 wrote:Who is "you guys", heck I'm willing to vote for Hillary if she can pose a threat to the disaster of a situation we have now. I might even donate to her campaign. -

First of all, my post was basically a paraphrasing of something Chris Matthews said a few weeks ago regarding Rick Perry:stlouiedipalma;878614 wrote:I already see what your excuse will be when/if Obama wins reelection. You know, those of you who blame everything you perceive to be wrong on the "MSM" really break me up. I'm guessing you and your friends sit up at night wringing your hands at those "filthy East Coast liberal reporters".
If you think the "nation's newspapapers and big news organizations" did that in 2008, or are going to talk about or do anything close to that leading up to 2012 with Obama, then you're extremely intellectually dishonest or seriously intellectually impaired.CHRIS MATTHEWS, HOST: Your thought about Perry. You’re a political expert, I haven’t had a chance to, is this guy really the Perry on top of this cake right now? EUGENE ROBINSON, WASHINGTON POST: I think he is a formidable politician. He’s got experience. He’s off like gangbusters. He immediately becomes a top tier candidate. And I think at the White House they are having to do recalibration today, and to think about, gee, maybe we will run against Perry instead of running against Romney.
MATTHEWS: You’ve been an editor, for many years the top editor at the Post. Do you think the nation’s newspapers and the big news organizations are now going to spend every nickel they have sending young people out there to go investigate this guy?
ROBINSON: Absolutely.
MATTHEWS: I think there is going to be a tremendous amount of investigation on this guy.
ROBINSON: Absolutely.
MATTHEWS: He better be clean as a whistle. Time is coming. He’s arrived. The time, the march of time has begun…
ROBINSON: Well, it’s hot in here.
MATTHEWS: …for this guy. Anyway, thank you. If you don’t like the heat, stay out of the kitchen, Governor
Second, hand-wringing late into the night isn't needed. Nearly every single day someone on the left (either politician or media) says something outrageous and certainly not in the interests of promoting civility. And in every single example the mainstream media's silence further exposes their hypocrisy.
Wake up already. -

Which is part of my point ---- had it been W's uncle it would be all over CBS, NBC, ABC, CNN etc..... pressuring him into giving his opinion of the matter etc..etc.... but, since it is obama's uncle and it is an unflattering situation, it gets buried.Ty Webb;879267 wrote:Maybe because it doesn't matter and no one cares because it doesn't affect his running of the country?

LOL...four months ago you were saying the same thing about Romney. Bam is running within the margin of error with the Top 4 Pubs so far. Color me less than concerned over who gets the nomination at this point.Ty Webb;879286 wrote:You guys better hope you nominate Perry....because if you don't you guys are totally screwed. Which should be of great concern in the BHO camp. If the Great Anointed One had truly brought us hope, change and economic nirvana none of the Repub candidate would have a prayer.fish82;879448 wrote:LOL...four months ago you were saying the same thing about Romney. Ty WebbCame across an article which gives food for thought if by some chance President Obama would happen to be defeated in 2012. A guys listed his top 5 Democratic candidates for 2016 to challange a Republican president:
1.Andrew Cuomo
2.Rahm Emanuel
3.Janet Napolitano
4.Tim Kaine
5.Evan Bayh
He also offered 5 others to watch:
Kathleen Sebelius
Hilliary Clinton
Brian Schweitzer
Sharrod Brown
Joe Biden -
Manhattan Buckeye^^^
Tim Kaine? LOL, he had his one year of fame. He couldn't get elected to the sanitation department in Virginia now.
I take it Joe Biden is a very bad joke. Not only will he be way too old, he's proven himself to be mentally incapable of the job. Obama would be wise to get rid of him now.
Big Sis? Unelectable.
The only electable person is Bayh, and I can see him running on the GOP ticket given his disgust of the DEMS currently. -
Ty WebbBayh will never run on a Republican ticket.....now he may have a Repub run with him though
Cuomo will be a huge front-runner going into 2015 and would be a huge challenge to a Republican President.
Emanuel could surprise alot of people but I see him as more of a VP
I would love to see Sherrod Brown run,as I think he could make an impact, but again I see him as more of a VP
You don't think Hilliary is electable? -
Manhattan BuckeyeNapolitano is Big Sis, do you get your political news from comic books?
Not only is Hillary electable, I'd donate to her campaign to get Obama out, he's been a complete disaster and is hurting the country. He's the worst mistake this country has made in my lifetime. -
Ty Webb
That would be your opinion....but please give me specific examples of how he is hurting this country?Manhattan Buckeye;879837 wrote:Napolitano is Big Sis, do you get your political news from comic books?

He's the worst mistake in your lifetime?? Do you not remember GWB,Carter,or LBJ(maybe you aren't that old) -

The problem is, it took Bush into his second term to start doing badly. Obama is in his first term and is disliked by many independents who thought he would actually follow through with his "hope" and "change". If you really think he is doing good things for this country you are a partisan hack.Ty Webb;879840 wrote:That would be your opinion....but please give me specific examples of how he is hurting this country?

Manhattan Buckeye,
1) Economic dream team - disbanded, if he had any type of business sense in him (which he doesn't) he would have made the economy his first priority, not a job killing half-baked healthcare bill that no one read completely, few understood and is still ineffective and has divided the country. The U.S. economy is in shambles. Just because it sucks less than Europe doesn't mean we don't deserve better leadership.Ty Webb;879840 wrote:That would be your opinion....but please give me specific examples of how he is hurting this country?

2) Biden. A mistake from the beginning. A career politician that like Obama has little real world experience but also has a crappy educational background to boot. His gaffes are no longer charming in a "that's just Joe Biden being Joe Biden" way, but in a "holy cow this guy is really dumb" way....and let's put him in charge of the stimulus package which he's woefully unqualified for!, which leads to ........
3) It is obvious that Obama cares more about Obama and being re-elected than the general welfare of the country. Regardless of what one thought about W's decisions, there is little doubt that he cared about the U.S. Obama needs to dump Biden now but he won't do it for political reasons. He needed to have his jobs plan speech before his Martha's Vineyard vacation but didn't do it, he's needed to step up and be a leader and for the last 2.5 years and he hasn't done it. He's treated his office like a NYC suburbanite teen tour while the U.S. is falling in significance and prosperity.
By any independent measure Obama is the least experienced person to get elected to POTUS, but even in '08 I (and I didn't vote for him) thought he'd at least give a crap about the U.S. and the people. The jobs speech better be good, it isn't just about re-election, if it stinks I'm writing my congressman to start impeachment proceedings. -

LOL this is rich!
Why don't Fannie and Freddie sue themselves, they caused the whole mess. -
WriterbuckeyeObama has done nothing to show leadership during this recession. He's spent most of his time campaigning for a second term. He's a political hack who had next to zero relevant experience when he was elected.
I think he's neck in neck with Carter for worst president during my lifetime, and that includes Nixon, LBJ and Bush -- who actually did very well when he was faced with a crisis, unlike Obama. -

LBJ and Nixon are solely responsible for tens of thousands of soliders being dead that didn't have to be and Bush butchered his response on Katrina.
That may be the most insane statement I have ever heard in here -
Manhattan BuckeyeYou're correct Ty, everyone is dumb but you.
Or you can embrace reality. -

How many friggin times does this have to be explained?Ty Webb;880770 wrote:...and Bush butchered his response on Katrina.
Ty, I think even you can understand this little civics factoid: State and local governments are responsible for IMMEDIATE local disaster response; not the Feds.
This means that ultra-leftist Mayor Ray "Chocolate City" Nagin and the moronic Democratic governor of Louisiana - Kathleen Blanco - both dropped the ball when Katrina hit.
But - yeah - "Blame Bush Syndrome" was in overdrive mode at the time. It's no surprise that your pals in the MSM were quick to point their fingers at the White House because their liberal bed buddies (Nagin and Blanco) went into hiding when disaster struck. -

Perhaps it's time to repost the photo of all those school buses in New Orleans, parked in a flooded lot, instead of being used BY LOCAL OFFICIALS to evacuate people.believer;880877 wrote:How many friggin times does this have to be explained?

BGFalcons82If you have 10 minutes or so, I invite you to read Palin's speech in Iowa a couple days ago - http://nation.foxnews.com/sarah-palin/2011/09/03/palin-takes-wrecking-ball-establishment
So many call her delusional, a wing-nut, a radical, etc. and yet, when you read what she's saying, it makes sense. In summary, she lambastes crony capitalism - from BOTH parties, she takes Obama to task for his incompetence/lack of experience, and she lays out what she would do to get our country back on track. Even the Left would agree with her on some points, such as eliminating corporate welfare and tying up loopholes used to perpetuate the crony's well-being. Her main points:
1. Eliminate the feds from all things not under their direct control and return to the 10th Amendment principles. Empower people and entrepreneuers, not politicians.
2. Reign-in burdensome regulations and eliminate most of all...ObamaKare.
3. Stop runaway debt. Balance the budget. Attack entitlement spending while we have a choice and not when we won't have one.
4. Become an energy superpower and dramatically reduce our reliance on foreign purveyors and leeches.
5. Reduce or eliminate corporate taxes, eliminate corporate welfare, attract foreign investors, and bring companies that fled the U.S. due to the punishing tax structure back home.
Good stuff from Sarah.
