  I'd rather the federal government spent our money on infrastructure and a true high speed rail system than all of the welfare entitlement programs that they have. Instead of having people live off of the government, the government should be building up our infrastructures and creating jobs so people can support themselves.

  Spending on infrastructure isn't one of the problems.
  
  I'm for fixing our problems and getting our budget under control. I just believe the spending cuts should not come at the cost of infrastructure improvements but rather other programs. That and we probably need higher taxes.
  
  And I don't think a high speed rail system or other infrastructure improvements are nearly as pie in the sky as you make them out to be.

  Is it the scrapping of the HSR plan? Because that would be good although I'd rather see another, better plan take its place. I guess no program is better than a bad program right now though.

  He's paying SOME staffers more, but overall costs should be lower.
  
  Cuts are going to have to be made EVERYWHERE, or did you forget Ohio has an 8 billion dollar deficit.
  
  And the resume privacy stuff is perfectly legal and acceptable. Once he's governor, it all becomes public record, anyway.

  I did see where the pay increases were more than offset by cuts in staff. Though if they were serious about it they would have done the cuts in staff and kept pay the same but the way he did it was at least a net gain.

  It's not really a memo to liberals as it is stupid people. If there are actual civil rights violations then people will generally get up in arms about them. If not it's really best to criticize on other grounds.

However, there is a "civil rights industry" that is beholden to Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, Maxine Waters, Oprah, and to some extent, Barry (remember the cop issue in Connecticut (?) a couple summers ago wherein he claimed racism without knowing the facts). These people will constantly churn this shit in order to make money, get donations, or gain electoral favor. When we disdain those that claim falsely as much as we disdain the true racists, then we will have racial equality. Until then, the rabble-rousing types get the headlines and the majority of Americans get to wear labels that they don't deserve (i.e. any member of the Tea Party).

  I find it ironic that a group based solely on the color their skin, who believe fervently in what MLK believed in, would allow themselves to continue to exist. Yet here we have a black legislators caucus that is trying to point the finger of racism and GET SOMEONE HIRED BASED SOLELY ON THEIR SKIN COLOR.

  This is true. But I hold those types of "civil rights leaders" at arms length. For the most part they haven't been relevant for a while.
  
  And you don't appreciate the unwarranted labling of any Tea Party member as racist (which is obviously not the case and a silly claim) just as much as others don't appreciate being labled as a "lazy liberal" or "tree hugger/etc" simply because they might think that alternative energy is important or something (not saying you lable people that way but some do).
  
  This claim of Kasich being a racist job killer is just as dumb as some of the claims against Obama (birth certificate, racist, etc). There is a common link between them in that both come from the "crazy" part of their political spectrum be it left or right.

It is good businesses as well as a good state government to have the best qualified candidates that also reflect diversity. As far as who has been hired, you are correct in saying that their qualifications become public record. You are incorrect in stating the people who applied and did not get hired become public record. If Kasich truly was interested in hiring the best qualified people then why can't we see who was even considered? Kasich is clueless and God help us all for the next 4 years.

  Yet here I am, defending him. They want QUOTAS, by your words and theirs. The cabinet should reflect the diversity...that's a quota.
  
  There is nothing more racist than quotas or affirmative action. It purposely hires people based on their race, as much as their qualifications, perhaps more...because if you get two candidates of equal strength on their resume, this system would hire the minority BECAUSE OF THE COLOR OF THEIR SKIN.
