  If September 17 never happened, You would be calling Palin, "Madame Vice President". Guaranteed. Obama had a golf ball the size of a basketball teed up after the run on credit and all he had to do was tie John McCain to the evil scum infidel torturer Bush, and he could walk away with the Presidency. He did, he's still blaming Bush, and he doesn't know whom to blame next...but I digress.

  I doubt it. It would have been closer, but Ohio and Va still would have gone Obama.

  Do you remember Hank Paulson...the DEMOCRAT Treasury Sec'y...on TV scaring the shit out of anyone that would listen that if he wasn't given total control over $700,000,000,000 that our economy would collapse within days? Do you remember how Bush even said that he has to give up his conservative roots and insist upon governmental control over the economy...playing right into Obama's hands? Paulson....there's the rat in the election, but that's another thread.
  
  Maybe we'll have to agree to disagree, but September 17 was seen as a huge tipping point, Bush somewhat blamed himself, Obama blamed Bush, anything tied to Bush was toxic (remember how no one in Congress wanted George at the campaign stops the last 7 weeks of the 08 election?), and Obama had it made in the shade as long as Bush was seen as the boogeyman. To provide the knockout punch, Obama's handlers had to show how electing him would be historic and didn't the voters want to make history? Game...set...match. Now that he was elected because he WAS NOT named Bush, we are seeing the fruits of his inexperience. This can be corrected in 23 months.

  Even though there is buyers remorse with alot of his voters, they don't want anybody crowing over them about it. They started smoothing over and downplaying Obama's ineptitude from his very first bungle. It's evident right on down to this message forum - downplaying, smoothing, rationalizing, etc.
  
  They'll vote for him again if it kills them.

  I'd argue that it's a good thing that some politicians are willing to support the candidate that they agree with most and not just go by the party they are for.

  I heard an interesting conversation on the radio the other day about possible R candidates in 2010. They mentioned Governor Rick Perry and how well he has run Texas. Not sure if Texas picks up more Electoral College votes with the new Census numbers, but theoretically, he would be starting off with 34 votes. If he would pick Rubio as VP, thats possibly at least another 27. Add in heartland Ohio (20?) and Indiana (11?) and possibly PA (21?) and that's a 79 vote swing to the R's. It's all a guess at this point.

  It really all depends on how the next 2 years go. Right now, depending on who the candidates were, i don't think i would vote for Obama again. I haven't been nearly as happy as i hoped i would be with Obama. A number of reasons for this, though it mostly stems from dissatisfaction with the health care "reform."
  
  But, we'll just have to see how things go from here. Seems like he has had a good end to the year, and i've been pleased with how things have ended up, so we'll see.
  
  Could totally see myself going Republican, though again, all depends on who is running and how the next 2 years shake out.
  
  Call me crazy, but i think things are going to start to turn around and continue to turn around and get better, regardless of whether Obama is elected or not.

  1. I also think Obama has had a good late year, but I don't think that it was by his choice, believe it or not. His back was against the wall and forced his hand to change some decisions he might not have made otherwise. But either way, I believe you're right.
  
  2. I also think things are gonna be changing. I actually prefer that there's some sort of balance in DC. The past two years have been an absolute nightmare chock full of ridiculosity. Let's hope that that never happens again in the future.
