The administration is threatening prosecution to the full extent of the law, calling it an attack on America and the international community. -
ptown_trojans_1Here is another example, where officially, the U.S. does not state where they are, but it is pretty much an open secret in the open source community.

2quik4usomething's weird about WikiLeaks
normal people get their assets seized so easily.. copyright violation, drug policy dissenters, anything .. they get shut down, their servers go down, their documents disappear, the juries are lied to, things get shut down..
in 'security issues' people get arrested, taken away, nobody asks for due process, nothing..
why does this org get away with everything? -

Because, from my understanding, he and the org hasn't broken any laws. US perhaps, but he isn't a US citizen.
There is also that little thing with the encrypted 'insurance file' that he supposedly has and will release to the world if something happens to him. I wonder if there is stuff in there that makes him untouchable? -
CenterBHSFanHe's probably sitting on alot of stuff that makes him untouchable to certain folks. But there's always that one who goes rogue.

I meant untouchable because of what he has. He must fully expect attempts on his life -- that's why the file that is openly out there for all to download. Nobody can open it though....unless something happens to him then someone he knows will release the key for it. If what he has is that important, nobody is going to put out a hit on him.CenterBHSFan;582481 wrote:He's probably sitting on alot of stuff that makes him untouchable to certain folks. fish82It's starting to sound like Hillary has a little problem on her hands with this...the spying on the UN hierarchy is ruffling a few feathers.

Freedom of the press is not absolute (just like freedom of speech). There are some responsibilities that go with the freedom.

Secret documents, personal data, confidential material smeared over the internet for the intent to uphold injustices based on one individuals perspective of right. Classified memos download, copied and smuggled by socially impede individuals for profit and revenge. This is the type of educated brainless personalities created via the computer age and technology. The writing was on the wall early but nobody was watching. First the computer crash fear Y2k a test run, then spam, followed by hundreds of virus all the making of a terrorist plan. A new breed of liberal terrorist one with no morals, values or reason other that hate for no reason other that to destroy. With justification of doing what right for the world in their minds regardless of the lives that will be lost and the devastation to others. Individual like this should be hunted down like Nazi a presented in a court of military law as an example to the world … and sentence to death.
I would like to blame Obama for this cluster fuck but I can’t.
How he handles this situation will be a demonstration of his command as a world leader. I’m not very confident in his abilities to provide that leadership nor am I confident in his Administration to do anything to set a modus operandi for future action like this.
This happen on your watch Obama …can’t blame Bush ..this is your rock to carry…
Only you would turn this into an indictment of Obama. Just for shits and giggles, what do you expect our government to do about this, at least within the law? -
Ankle BreakerSomeone might have already said this....I haven't gone back and read all the posts. But I'd say that 3-6 years ago the mainstream media would have been praising WikiLeaks for a job well done. I'm just sayin'. I do not agree with these leaks in any way as I don't think this is good for anyone - however, I am sure it is viewed differently now than it would have been under the Bush administration.
-
gutIs any of that really shocking or a bombshell? I'm not that worried. Foreign countries will act outraged and put on a dog-and-pony show, but I suspect none of this is going to news to most world leaders. It will further hurt perceptions among the general population about the US globally, but it's not like they have any more love to be lost.

FootwedgeNothing Assuange has released should surprise anyone regardining the clandestine, illegal activities of our military operations. We kill citizens by the tens of thousands...we torture innocent people as well. Nothing new here. Move along there folks.

We kill citizens by the tens of thousands? Really? I've been reading the documents and haven't come across that. -
I Wear PantsYeah, I haven't seen anything that says we kill tens of thousands of citizens.

Why go to the effort, just make something up like he does. -

Google it. You don't need Wikileaks to confirm it. Wikileak releases are simply microcosms of the real picture regarding our involvement in IraqPakAfghanistan. The Obama administration is worse than the last group in power.I Wear Pants;583788 wrote:Yeah, I haven't seen anything that says we kill tens of thousands of citizens. -

LOL. "Making stuff up". You don't think that there are tens of thousands of dead Iraqi citizens? How about hundreds of thousands? Use your google button. It's a cool tool.queencitybuckeye;583815 wrote:Why go to the effort, just make something up like he does. -

Ohhhh nooooes, not killing Iraqis. son of a bitch! I'm reading Lone Survivor right now, and because they didn't want to kill some Taliban supporters because the liberal media would call them murderers they didn't and 3 of the 4 wound up dead (along with 16 that came to save them in a helicopter). So sorry that if "citizens" need to die to protect our soldiers, so be it. Liberalism and Rules of Engagement are getting Americans killed everyday. -
I Wear PantsKnow what stops troops from being killed? Not being in wars we shouldn't be in.

Truth is, your statement is BS. Because out of the people who post here you'll find MAYBE one person who wants this war. -
ptown_trojans_1Unless there is a viable alternative that does not involve the Taliban retaking large portions of Afghanistan and into Pakistan with sympathy to al Qaeda, I see no choice but to stay and use COIN to fight.
Drones won't work, as it is a tactic, not a strategy.
