"The most left-wing president in modern American history has tried to force a highly interventionist, government-driven agenda that runs counter to the principles of free enterprise, individual freedom, and limited government that have made the United States the greatest power in the world, and the freest nation on earth."
BINGO ............ one sentence that sums up the entire situation. -
jhay78Hard to argue with those 10 reasons there. My only problem with the article is I don't think Obama "declined" from anything. Voters in 2008 with half a brain knew he was grossly inexperienced, had ties to radical leftist throughout his lifetime, and had a very liberal (if not the most liberal) voting record in the Senate. The only thing he's declining from is the Messianic, speech-giving, do-no-wrong, save-us-from-Bush hero that the media propped him up to be.

You're assuming many who voted for him had half a brain, HAHA. Truth be told, many who voted for him did not want the things you mentioned (dismissed as conservative talking points) or possibly never heard many of those things when they watched the evening news on NBC, CBS or ABC. Others suffered from "Bush fatigue" and simply voted for BHO as a referendum on the prior administration. Finally, you had the other set who voted for the man for the color of his skin and not for the content of his character. -
ernest_t_bassI'm not going to lie, and you can call me what you want. I think one of the main reasons that no one has faith in him is because the American people (deep down) have a hard time trusting a black man, who comments on basketball, March Madness, etc, as our President. You read that out loud, and you think it's absurd, be we are watching this guys EVERY move, just waiting for him to fail, so we can have some affirmation that we were right. I don't think he ever had a chance, and I don't think he stands a chance in the next two years. I won't give the man a chance now, and I have no desire to do so in the future. Nothing in me wants to support him.

Yeah, and I think many felt McCain was more of the same, right or wrong. I know a lot of independents voted for him more as a reprisal to the Republican party than actually being in favor of Obama - didn't like McCain, didn't like Obama, but wanted to send a message. People either didn't understand or appreciate the potential for socialism and redistribution and it has been a rude awakening. -

I completely disagree. Most Americans wanted him to succeed, even those of us who didn't vote for him (yeah, like I really wanted to tolerate THIS just to see him fail). It was a national feel good story with the media in his hip pocket - the country hadn't been this excited about a new POTUS in a long time. But then he just kept right on campaigning, eventhough he won the election, and people started to realize he cared more about celebrity and hearing himself talk, seeing himself on tv as opposed to governing. -

You'd be surprised. Though a lot of people claim its pulling the race card unjustifiably, I know I have heard people back home (and unfortunately some I'm related to) referring to stimulus projects as being funded by "N***er Money". It has nothing to do with anything, but it has to be said in their opinion. This was just at the end of July as well.
What's even funnier about it is they made the comment about a project that was funded wholly by the city in which it was being constructed, and had been in planning since 2006... ignorance makes everything funnier. -

I am not going to sit here and say that race is not a factor for some people, but I think the people who use words like "N* Money" and who this issue is primarily about race are an extreme minority themselves (maybe 5% of the population). Oddly enough, the people who are most likely to use that phrase are nothing but poor white trash themselves who are collecting government welfare checks, social security and/or are are waiting on their great union job to come back.
I think for the overwhelming majority it is about the man's politics and values. -

The reason we are watching his every move is because this man came out of nowhere to claim his party's nomination over Hillary Clinton who everyone assumed was a shoe-in. The media had (and still does have) a bizarre love affair with Obama...a man who arguably has no real experience to be POTUS but was elected nonetheless with the media's assistance. Hence the nickname "Anointed One."ernest_t_bass;450327 wrote:I'm not going to lie, and you can call me what you want. While there are some who want him to fail because he is black, many more wanted him to succeed because they voted to make him the country's first black POTUS.
Obama rode into the presidency with the image of being the next best thing to FDR...or perhaps the Democratic Party's leftist Ronald Reagan.
BHO was EXPECTED to be great but the media hype overshadowed reality. His failures are NOT because he's black. It's because he's in over his head. -

Agreed- It was MLK Jr's dream in reverse.

I don't doubt a small percentage feel that way. Part of it is politics- if it were Joe Biden, we'd be hammering him just as much (and he would probably be saying more stupid stuff)- and not the color of his skin. Off the top of my head, I can think of about 10 African-Americans I would rather see as President than Barack Obama. -
gutPut the shoe on the other foot....Some secretly wanted Iraq and Afhanistan to fail because they despised Bush so much.
When are people going to stop blaming every failure on racism? The guy was elected to tremendous fanfare and given a Democratic House and Senate...For secretly wanting the guy to fail, America sure as hell gave him a mandate on a giant silver platter. -

Nothing that Obama could do would make him worse than George W. Bush. GWB set the standard for being a truly lousy president. -

The record:
Protected America as he said he would do -- 100% perfect record of protecting the homeland following 9/11; no one can do better than 100% perfect.
Averaged about 5% unemployment during his term ------ obama at 10%, not counting the millions more who have given up hope.
Ran deficits following attacks and recession, but not even remotely close to the trillions in annual deficits courtesy of obama.
Did not spend time nor money on ridiculous amounts of golf, concerts and parties at the white house, or vacations during times of crisis.
Did not seize private businesses or industries.
Did not subvert the will of the people and ram health care through.
Did not attempt to ram through cap-n-tax, or card check, or other job killing policies.
Did not continually assault free market private enterprise upon which this nation was founded.
Gee, the facts and the record actually support President Bush as a very good president and leader, while obama is a major FAIL. -

"W" will never be ranked as one of the best but history will ultimately reveal that he was certainly not one of the worst.
Obama, while forever going into the history books as our first black POTUS, will also NEVER be in the best category...by a long shot.
As bad as "W" may have been to some folks, in a head-to-head race I'd vote for Bush in a slam dunk over BHO each and every time. No comparison. -

Most definitely not the case. Obviously people have soured on him (and for damn good reason) on both sides. However, those who held racist sentiments all along are definitely loving every minute of it for all of the wrong reasons. -

True about Bush. Since Obama has over two years left in his term, one can't say with certainty. So far he is most definitely heading in the wrong direction.
