The stunning decline of obama

I lived through Carter and that was pretty bad. This has been worse so far...but there's still a ways to go. -

I was in grade school during Carter's presidency. In the back seat in a line for gas, Ugh! We youngsters had little patience. Personally I think if things don't change Obama will make Carter look like a walk through the park. -
CenterBHSFanObama didn't fall all that much for me. He started off on about the 4th rung from the bottom of the latter to start out with. I wasn't captivated by him.
He's now on the very bottom rung. -
gutts1227;450524 wrote:Most definitely not the case. Obviously people have soured on him (and for damn good reason) on both sides. However, those who held racist sentiments all along are definitely loving every minute of it for all of the wrong reasons.
This is my problem with that logic. You've already cited there are "damn good reasons" to have soured on him, so while some people may have racist sentiments, that need not be the solely or even the primary reason for criticism. In all honesty, only someone capable and ready for the job can play the race card. I mean, it's equivalent to a football team that just got thumped 49-0 blaming the officiating. -

Cleveland BuckIs his decline really stunning? Many people saw this coming, and therefore didn't vote for him in the first place.

Given he won, yes -- it's stunning. While many saw it (I was one) as being inevitable, many many more did not. That's why he's now President. -
PaladinThe decline of Obama ? LOL ! It would be highly unusual in tough times not to see a Prez decline. For the record however, polls also show the Rs with one of the lowest rankings EVER for politicos, way down at the bottom with Ds higher in ranking & the Prez higher still. Wanna guess what that means , lol ? I see nothing that prevents Obama from being re-elected vs a hated R party. And with the demographic tidal wave breaking against the Rs, this "decline" of Obama is laughable. Of course, our frontrunners here continue to develope hate threads for the audience of misfits & malcontents that collect here. The reading here continues to be amusing. Keep up the good work !

True. -
ross ford81Paladin: If what you say is true, why then is Obama doing very poorly with independent voters right now? Not saying he can't recover, but he's in serious political trouble.

PaladinYou missed reading my remarks correctly -- in tough economic times it would be highly unusual for a Prez NOT to decline. The key is, he remains highly favored ( relatively) with the public compared to the Rs , who are at the pits in approval with the public. Even the D politicos are ranked higher than Rs. When you break out the Independents, the same applies. Only with the Rs is Obama truly ranked low ( go figure, lol). What does that say ? LOL ! No one is arguing he hasn't fallen, but in comparasion, he is doing great in tough times compared to the Rs or the Ds. Join the yellers & screamers, who make lots of noise ,but don't affect the polling at all . The Rs remain a regional party strong with Southern ,conservative, religious whites and elsewhere, its a mixed bag with demographics working against the R party. They have no plan, they promote nothing but fear & hate and they are against women, gays, minorities, labor, the young, the elderly and now immigrants . And thats a winning formula as the population of all those people grow ? I'm not sure what you are smoking but..................

To many fair minded people, the D's remain a regional party strong with women, gays, minorities, labor, the young, the elderly and now immigants, its a mixed bag with demographics working against the D party. They have no plan, the promote nothing but fear & hate against southerners, conservatives and religious whites. -
