What do you want him to do? Cancel everything and be literally on top of the pump closing the hole?QuakerOats wrote: Things the president is doing during the 'crisis':

The President is fine keeping his schedule. Let the people who really do the policy work drive the next steps, not the President. He is pretty much doing all he can without being annoying.
On Jindal, I agree, a big Charlie Foxtrot about the permits and such. -
majorsparkFoxnews is reporting "top kill" as having some success. Reports are unconfirmed and preliminary.

This would be a good time to tell the feds to go pound sand and do what needs to be done. Jindal should just exercise his power as governor and take action.ptown_trojans_1 wrote: On Jindal, I agree, a big Charlie Foxtrot about the permits and such. -

I agree, Major.
Act now and deal with whatever (if any) federal/political wrath later. -

Oil spill is now nation's worst.
11 million gallons spilled in the Exxon Valdez disaster
17-39 million in this one.
Damn...... -
CenterBHSFanWell, the resignations have started!

fish82If Salazar had an ounce of dignity, he'd resign today as well. He's acted like a petulant little child throughout the entire incident.

majorsparkBP is testing Kevin Costner's machines that claim to be able to separate oil from water. I was not aware of this. Hopefully this will be more successful than "Waterworld".
http://abcnews.go.com/Technology/kevin-costner-machine-bp-oil-clean/story?id=10689928The devices, which can be taken to the spill site via barges, come in different sizes. The largest can clean water at a rate of 200 gallons per minute -- more than 50 gallons faster than the well is leaking, according to the firm. Depending on the water to oil ratio, the devices are capable of extracting 2,000 barrels of oil per day from the gulf. BP is employing six of the machines in its tests. -

Kevon Costner?! That's awesome, but who would have thought?majorspark wrote: BP is testing Kevin Costner's machines that claim to be able to separate oil from water. -

No way. What thread was it where we just said Coster could save the world? Awesome. -

QuakerOatsNewt was absolutely fantastic again last night.

He took obama admin to the woodshed; just some great insight included in his remarks. -
fish82I'm surprised that it took Her Majesty this long, but Queen Nancy has finally come to the painfully obvious realization that this whole farking mess is in fact, Bush's fault.

November is going to be a bloodbath. I'm starting to pop my popcorn now so I know I'll have enough. -

haha no shit sherlock!...I’ve heard no complaints from my members about the way the president has handled it,” Pelosi stated. -
tk421I'd give anything if Pelosi would disappear.

tk421Not that I want to jinx it, but I'm surprised the gas prices haven't risen because of this spill.

That is because Bush and Cheney are no longer in power. They would have been able to get their cronies in big oil to jack up prices so they could reap windfall profits.tk421 wrote: Not that I want to jinx it, but I'm surprised the gas prices haven't risen because of this spill. -

Yeah, Obama and his administration are clearly the enemies of Big Oil.majorspark wrote:

Mr. 300Well, if Obama and his admin have been on top of this thing as he stated this week, that makes him and his admin a complete and utter failure. If he's going to cover his ass by claiming this, then he gets the bad press of not getting it done, not BP.
