I just can't believe out of all the great beers out there, Obama chose Bud Light. Seriously? Bud Light???? It's not even owned by an American company anymore. This makes me think he is a socialist.I Wear Pants wrote: Beer summit was entertaining damned news. -

Please post a link to show that Clinton got us out of debt, I'd love to see it.Red_Skin_Pride wrote:
After we got fucked in the ass by a war that had no point, and then doubled the gas prices, does it really matter? Face it dude. GHWB left us with a ton of debt that Clinton got us out of, and his son did the same thing that yet again, another democrat has to get us out of. That whole family is a bunch of fuckups in terms of running this country. Can't wait until people like you forget about every republican president for the last 25 years and elect another one, so we can get ourselves in TRILLIONS of dollars of debt yet again.
Also please show me a link where Obama has lowered the debt, I'd love to see it. -

There was never a surplus under Clinton; had there actually been, then the national debt would have declined that year(s), and that did not occur. The debt rose every year as deficits added to it.I Wear Pants wrote: I think he meant balanced budget. Not debt free. -
I Wear PantsPretty sure there was a surplus in 2000 and 2001.

There was a "budgeted surplus" those years.I Wear Pants wrote: Pretty sure there was a surplus in 2000 and 2001. -
I Wear PantsWere the incomes not greater than the outgoing expenditures those years?

If there were, then the debt would have been reduced, no? If not, then where did the "surplus" money go?I Wear Pants wrote: Were the incomes not greater than the outgoing expenditures those years? -
dwccrewNational debt and the budget surplus are two totally different things. In a particular year, there can be a budget surplus for that year and there will also still be national debt.

No, that would mean they spent the surplus paying down debt.fish82 wrote:

There was a surplus during Clinton's last 3 years. Look it up. Even Limbaugh can't deny it.QuakerOats wrote:

FootwedgePublic debt==National debt. Clinton reduced the national debt each of his last 3 years in office.
