    It has already begun, IMO.
    Some evidence for that..

Un:The apocalypse didn't happen after the health care bill was passed.

I think the nuclear treaty is a nice achievement as well...

Most of the healthcare bill will not take affect for four years. Some parts of it will not take affect for nearly a decade. Give it time.

Do I miss W because he was a "great" President- Not so much

The difference between W and Obama is, W was taking us to bankruptcyville in a car, Obama has us bond, gagged and blindfolded on a supersonic jet!
    Or on High Speet Rail...
That's how Strickland is "helping" to get us to the airport!

Forget the presidents of the past, let look to our next president who hopefully will have the resolve to truly fix the problems that have been created or developed over the last four years. My vote is for JC Watts!!
  • QuakerOats
Yeah, I sure as hell miss him.

The current regime is making W look like George Washington.

One of the worst presidents in history IMO. Would have continued running for president if he could, they had to pass an amendment so no one could try and make a power grab like FDR did. Tried to load up the Supreme Court. Not too mention all the social programs he enacted. WW2 is the only thing that saved FDR and gave him the image of a great president. Anyone in office at that time would have been considered a "savior". JMO

FDR absolutely ripped up the constitution and set recovery from the great depression back about 5 years. If I have to take a dem as president I will always take Clinton.

Bush II was an idiot though. He was a big government, bible thumper. Yuck.

It is true the president bares a great responsibility but congress is responsible as well. In fact the house has the power under article 1 section 7 to not fund any federal government expense. The house is supposed to be the closest representation of the popular will of the people. They hold the power of the purse yet rarely zip it shut.

That's your example of him doing just fine? The Nuclear Treaty would have been a better example.

majorspark ~ there you go again. Quit bringing up the constitution. It is a dead document in this day and age! Have you not seen the actions in the last 16 months by a man who swore/affirmed to uphold and defend it? This sob used it for whiping his butt.

God forbid this country wake up and start educating its youth on the constitution. Then and only then would a true revolution occur.

Not sure how to get the pic from Iphone to OC. Might need my brothers help, he's at work now so If I can't get it to work I'll have him hook me up.

But to answer the question "NO"
Not at all, it is very difficult to miss someone when the replacement is nearly identical to you.

^^True, they just spend money differently, but they both spend, spend, spend.

I saw a commercial for that White House dinner tonight with one of my favorite jokes from G-Dub.

"Why can't I have a dinner with the 30% of people that like me?".

For all that I hated his policies I never understood how people hated the way he spoke. He was entertaining as hell.

Really? Which surgery did you have first; the lobotomy or the castration?
After we got fucked in the ass by a war that had no point, and then doubled the gas prices, does it really matter? Face it dude. GHWB left us with a ton of debt that Clinton got us out of, and his son did the same thing that yet again, another democrat has to get us out of. That whole family is a bunch of fuckups in terms of running this country. Can't wait until people like you forget about every republican president for the last 25 years and elect another one, so we can get ourselves in TRILLIONS of dollars of debt yet again.

Please document the last time the United States had no national debt and edit your post accordingly.

I think he meant balanced budget. Not debt free.

So say deficit, not debt. They are vastly different things.
  • goosebumps
Didn't Clinton Balance the budget by borrowing from Social Security? uh oh...

When Social Security is running a surplus, Which it was during the Clinton Administration due to the dotcom bubble. They are required to buy securities from the federal government, which boosts the amount of money the federal gov has at its disposal to say "balance the budget".

    Was the Budget balanced?

If transferring debt to another entity within the same government is balanced, then I guess yes, it was balanced.

Yes George Bush extended our debt tremendously, but Clinton didnt' "balance our budget".
