Millions out of work ...... Obama out golfing.

    Obama has already played more golf in one year than Bush did in 8 years. Imagine the outcry from the left if Bush had put in 32 rounds in the last year in the face of this massive unemployment.

    Ok, so even if we accept your point that the media is giving him a pass on this (although I personally don't really remember Bush getting hammered too bad for golfing and going on vacation....crazy lefty wackos on blogs maybe...but not Peter Jennings etc. Could be wrong that was a long time ago),

    Isn't this what you would rather have him be doing? You're a free-marketeer by all indications of your posts....based upon your beliefs, Obama can do more to help the unemployment situation by going Golfing and ignoring any legislation sent to him by Congress to get involved. You should be praising him for not instilling his radical marxist plot onto our Republic and going out and working on his 3 wood.

    A - Bush could not get hammered on it because he quit playing in '03 because he felt it was a disservice.

    B - If Obama set about to embrace free-market ideas thereby allowing the economy to do the rest you might have a point, unfortunately everything he is doing is anti-business, anti-investment, anti-capitalism, anti-job growth. He should be doing just about the opposite of what he is doing ............. but that ain't gonna happen because of his radical ideology.

    So, take over some car companies - go play golf; take over health insurance - go play golf; appoint a few more radicals to cabinet posts - go play golf; backdoor the senate and appoint a radical to the NLRB - go play golf ............. the beat goes on ...............

    The Republicans will gain back some seats. I don't think they'll quite gain back a majority but who knows. They run the elections because none of us know for sure.

    A clear majority would be nice, but they really only need to get within 10 or so seats to make Nancy's life pretty damn painful. I mean seriously, it took her 8 months to get a vote done with a 40 seat majority. If she has to rely on every single blue dog vote to get stuff passed, she's pretty screwed.

    Meh....it's a tough job. If the guy wants to go out and play some golf, I could care less. Anything that keeps him out of the office and not fucking things up is cool with me. ;)

    So, show me something that shows him playing golf during the time Iraq was in mayhem (2003-2007). Him playing golf with like six months left in his Presidency is a bit stupid to complain about...

    Sons were and are still dieing not just in Iraq but Afghanistan.

    But, I honestly could care less. Reagan went swimming, Ike had a golf course, Nixon bowled, etc. Every President did something to unwind. Given the demands of the job, I see no problem with it.

    This thread is laughable...the dude has the most stressful job in the world. Literally a 24/7 job. And you're gonna bash him for trying to relax a bit. Personally, I'd rather have someone who is relaxed and refreshed occasionally on the job then someone who is just letting the stresses of the job eat at him. I had no problem with Bush going on retreat, I have no problem with Obama golfing/playin hoops. They're people, they need some down time.

    You either didn't read the articles I posted or you didn't understand them, so I'll spell them out!

    Bush claimed to have given up golf when he heard of the death of U.N. special representative Sergio Vieira de Mello on Aug. 19, 2003, stating this:
    No, I remember when de Mello, who was at the U.N., got killed in Baghdad as a result of these murderers taking this good man's life. And I was playing golf -- I think I was in central Texas -- and they pulled me off the golf course and I said, it's just not worth it anymore to do.
    The Associate Press reported on Oct. 13, 2003 that President Bush
    spent a "cool, breezy Columbus Day" playing "a round of golf with three long-time buddies.

    "Bush played at Andrews Air Force Base with Clay Johnson, Office of Management and Budget deputy director, Richard Hauser, Department of Housing and Urban Development general counsel and another friend, Mike Wood."

    On that outing, he was typically full of what passes for good humor at the White House. The AP reported: "'Fine looking crew you got there. Fine looking crew,' Bush joked to reporters. 'That's what we'd hope for presidential coverage. Only the best.'

    "He hit a couple of practice balls before flaring his tee-off shot into the right rough."
    Not even two months later he was back on the links!

    I am bashing him for failing to puruse policies that will help get people back to work, sooner rather than later, and instead pursuing policies that will make it more difficult for businesses to invest, flourish, and hire people ................ all the while out playing golf. I am sure the millions and millions who are out of work are happy about all that.

    And if it was Bush, he would be crucified in the press.

    Then you would have bashed Reagan for swimming and horseback riding, Nixon for bowling, Ike for playing golf, Kennedy for boating, Clinton...well ok.

    Bush got an unfair treatment, but you are treating Obama unfair as well.
