USMCdevil05Still no love for Travis Luft at 135 division 1! I don't see the Davis kid from Briggs or Sisler from Marysville beating him!
Clutter would beat Whitt from GC, have they wrestled at all? I think Clutter even gives Kunzi a run for his money.
Hopefully Nace will get to see McDougle from Gahana this weekend. -
Dad4Sports
Nace may see a McDougle on Sat, but it may not be the right McDougle (for rankings comparisons).....on another thread, Cruiser pointed out that the McDougle twins appear to each be wrestling up a weight for duals (119 & 125) as opposed to what they have been for tournaments (112-119). Your guess is as good as mine where they will be on Sat???USMCdevil05 wrote: Hopefully Nace will get to see McDougle from Gahana this weekend. -
Varsityfan32the older delande back ? number one already ?

Takedown2
Clutter and Whitt havent wrestled yet, they will both be at Toledo Waite this weekend as well as Westland has a dual meet scheduled at Grove City sometime in early February. That will be a very tough match for both men.USMCdevil05 wrote: Clutter would beat Whitt from GC, have they wrestled at all? I think Clutter even gives Kunzi a run for his money. -
USMCdevil05It will be a good match, but I see Clutter with the upper hand on this one. Both are strong wrestlers though.
I haven't seen any results for DeLande yet. -
FadedGlory88I haven't seen any results for DeLande yet.
The oldest Delande is 5-0 so far with wins over #4 Mason kid and #6 Princeton kid (according to Bucksman poll)...both were state qualifiers last year. -
cruiser_96Anyone affiliated with Grove City... I owe you. K-O-W-A-L-E-S-K-I... I changed it on my MicroSoft Word document, but failed to change the email. I got pulled into a classroom and had to send the cemail copy to the Dispatch. It was in this email that it was messed up. Their coach asked me to change it, and I did... but did so on my master copy.
I stink, I know.
Delande... tough as nails and owns a victory over Justus. New year, though, right? Yeah I hear you, but we have to start somewhere. Let's start here, and finish it in March. I think both are great, and will - not should - represent Central Ohio well at the Schott.
ps: The reports I have say Delande was able to beat the Mason kid (Porter???) that Justus lost to in the semis of Medina. 5-3 OT(?)...maybe even 4-3uot!!!
Luft... He's right there. I sent Coach Nace an email today stating the same thing. I have Sisler as a 135 pounder. He wrestled 140 at Top Gun...and did okay. Maybe next week I'll insert Luft just to get a dig in on monarchpride. GO BUCKEYES!!!!!!!!!
If anyone has some other names and results, feel free to add them. I have no problem shifting a ranking because I missed a result.

USMCdevil05I wasn't bashing your rankings my man. I just think Luft has had better results than those 2. We will see come the last week in febuary and the first week in march. It will all work its self out.

Dad4SportsI think Canal Winchester is too low in the team rankings. I'll admit I have a dog in the fight and therefore may be biased. However, other than Olentangy, they have wrestled one of the toughest D2 schedules in the area. State-placer Conrad Rosch is back, and the rest of the line-up is beginning to get healthy (although a little flu bug may hold some of them down this Sat).
It will all be settled on the mat....just throwing my 2 cents in... -
cruiser_96dad4sports: I don't follow DII enough, but I've talk with a host of DI coaches, family and friends and that flu bug is something fierce. And it is no respector of varsity, JV or freshmen...or even coaching staff!!! We've had our share, as it appears you have as well. My goodness how crushing they can be. The good thing is, getting it in mid-Jan beats getting in mid-Feb or even early March.
Good luck to the Indians.
USMC: I didn't take it as a dig. I was just wanting to clarify. -

All 5 teams ahead of Canal have outperformed your "dog" on the mat this season.
I think Canal may be ranked ahead of Bradley and Licking Valley based on "potential" and not actual results.
I think Canal is a good team and well coached but more like #8 and not #6 or higher....based on "on the mat" results.......another 2 cents heard from...lol -
ksig489Here is my 2 cents...
We have seen Hartley...they are real good. I thought they were legit at #4.
We wrestle Olentangy tonight, Highland this weekend, Desales and Highland in a tri soon, and we have seen Big Walnut and Licking Valley.
I think the rankings are pretty good. I was surprised Hartley dropped a spot and I still think Licking Valley may be under ranked (they may not have a bunch of individual stars, but they can score in just about every weight class). -

From a potential standpoint, if they ever get healthy, I see Canal being much better than where they currently sit. Hard to rank them ahead of teams that have outplaced them up to this point...cdva wrote:

Varsityfan32My two cents is DeSales is rated a little too high with only 3 wrestlers ranked

I guess that is what I am seeing.....fair enoughbravesman wrote: From a potential standpoint, if they ever get healthy, I see Canal being much better than where they currently sit. Hard to rank them ahead of teams that have outplaced them up to this point...

ksig489Hadnt seen those results on the CIT...Im a little surprised actually after seeing Hartley wrestle. Did they have a full lineup for that one?
-
6 minutesMartello(Ready) beat Davis(Briggs-ranked 2nd at 135 Div 1) 11-1 last night
-
cruiser_96Got that info this morning. And if I could text as fast as I type and had as many characters per text as when I type, I would have noted that Martello will be put in the rankings at 135 for next week. The tough sell will getting all the coaches on board for letting the DIII kid in our DI rankings. Of course, I'm kidding, but it wasn't about to stop me from typing!!!
As I told the person who sent the text... I love the info! -
Love2Wrestle
Had a couple guys out. Zang did not place either and was second seed. I thought Hartley would finish ahead.ksig489 wrote: Hadnt seen those results on the CIT...Im a little surprised actually after seeing Hartley wrestle. Did they have a full lineup for that one? -
wingman87th145 D1 Hartsell(Reynoldsburg) beat Schembri(Gahanna) 6-4, and real close against Kowaleski(Grove City) 4-5. Keep him on your radar for the other's list.

Didnt he lose big to Luft??? Lancasters 145 is very goodwingman87th wrote: 145 D1 Hartsell(Reynoldsburg) beat Schembri(Gahanna) 6-4, and real close against Kowaleski(Grove City) 4-5. Keep him on your radar for the other's list. -
wrestling101Schembri(gahanna) was sick and a blind man could see that. and for the notice two days previous to that meet Schembri beat Hartsell by 5 points in the quarter finals at Marion Elgin, when in full health. and if anyone watched the match Hartsell likes to stall on the elbow A LOT. and if Schembri destroyed Hartsell like that i'm pretty sure he can do it to Kowaleski. Schembri(gahanna) will meet Kowaleski(grove city) FEB. 4th, @ gahanna Lincoln. Schembri proved his self once before by dominating Snyder 7-2 im sure he has no problem doing it again, absolutely no one gives him credit, and he should be ranked top 3. Does anyone out there think Schembri will lose this match up?
-
wingman87thNever said Schembri is not tough. All close. Marion tourney was 6-4 very late, and ended up 8-4 last seconds. Yes, Luft destroyed early in the season. Not saying he deserves top 3 at all, just mentioned in the others as he can wrestle with 4-6. Yes, Lancaster kid is decent but couldn't beat Schembri very tired, or hang close to Kowaleski.
