Is that the ITC state whiteboard teaser?
  • HilliardDad
who knows, But in D1 I think the following have the potential to win it all

    113 Lee
    126 Wimer
    132 Smith
    138 Sparks / Demas
    145 Kowalski
    160 Black
    170 Stratton
    195 Lybarger
    220 Pfarr

Law of averages say we get about 2 of those, so I will predict 3: Lee, Wimer, Smith (see revised list below)

well crap, actually, I like his better than the others, not sure why I left him out.

I will predict 4: Lee, Wimer, Smith, Kowalski
  • Bitterrunner-up
Kowalski is the only favorite in my mind. On a hot weekend, Wimer could absolutely win it...and who knows what Demas will bring against guys who have not seen him this year. I could see him making the finals as well. I look at Pfarr as a pretty stiff underdao, but Frueauf has shown signs of being less than what he was last season, so who knows?

If I had to guess, Id say two.

    Kowalski isn't from Central Ohio

He may not be from "Columbus:, but it is hard to argue against geography....

Mount Vernon is about as far away from Columbus as Dresden is, few argue that Mount Vernon isn't commonly referred to as Central Ohio.

Two. Three if someone catches a break.
  • Fishfinder
Tri-Valley is in the East District

I'm adding a dark horse to the mix, DII Bullard (195) Johnstown.

What's the take on Demas? Absolutely was destroying everyone at Christmas time...but now has seemed to be wrestling like a "mere" stud, instead of an "out of this universe" stud. Has he hit the freshman wall...or is it just that everyone has had a chance to study him and come up with a game plan?

I'm guessing it is the latter...now he has to adapt and take it to the next level. With the internet, it's tough to sneak up on anyone these days, but I'm guessing he will find things more to his liking in the early rounds at the Schott.

I say Martinez from Licking Valley D2 106 has a shot this year. I know he's not the favorite but on any given day......

He's a freshman this year and every year his chances at a state championship improve. I bet he has one or two by the time he finishes his senior year.

    40.

D-II 145 and D-III 132 do not have Central District representation.

    rassler: darn tootin!!!

From that Russian tie there are a myriad of moves. There will be no more 'sneaking up' though. All guts from Thursday on. Best of of luck. I like him.
  • PantherDad
I'm predicting 5. Austin Pfarr's been wrestling like he's on a mission. Put him in with Lee, Wimer, Smith, Kowalski.
  • buckeyebuc
Lee has been impressive, but I do not see him beating Perry's Rodriguez again. The Top Gun win was 3-1, it was Rodriguez's first match back after knee injury. The takedown call was shaky. Perry has a mentality right now that is all aimed at getting Riggs' his first title.

What I saw his opponents do on Saturday in his last two matches I would hardly refer to as wrestling, Rooney was far worse than Sparks in my opinion, but both we're trying to survive, not score and win. If people continue to folllow that formula, we"ll see a lot less fireworks. It worked on Saturday for Sparks, not for Rooney. Hopefully if we seem any of them meet up again, we"ll see more fearlessness.

Quite a coup for Darby to host both the Central and East a Districts in one day.
