coachchucki was speaking about last year travis did not tell me about the mom put did let me know about tossing the kid from coffman
i am over what happened lasy year at cities
But dont talk out the side of your neck about a kid me and several others worked our a%& off to get him where he is today because your kid got tossed its wrestling it could happen at anytime by anybody -
Falcons53So a kid tossed another kid and everyone calls him a bad apple? Weak. I wrestled and won a lot of matches. I also got tossed many times. It is wretsling and if you are aggressive and wrestle late in to tournaments consistently, you will face kids as good or better than you. From time to time, you will lose. Grow up.
As far as bad calls on slams, I have seen that as well and watched kids get ripped off of trips to state over it. learn from it and move on.
I have never seen this kid wrestle in person, but have heard of him. Good luck in the tournament this year.

Look at all this trouble you started Bitter. lolBitterrunner-up;1379412 wrote:Not to nit-pick, but didn't he lose by default to someone it the City League last year. I thought there was a blast douple that was called a slam and the opponent did not continue. When I saw his undefeated record in the State program last year it struck me as odd, because I know he lost that match. Regardless, he's a good kid and I wish him the best of luck. 100 wins, not a big deal. State title, very big deal. -
capthookTravis should have threw the mom and her cane. LOL I bet she wouldn't run onto a mat again

Drag anyone through anything. Maybe he was caught up in a moment and didn't know his own strength. But it wasn't cool ![/QUOTE] I call that kid a bully, not a good kid.
FIRST OF ALL lets come to a understanding Beagoodsport , it clearly shows you are uneducated when it comes to WRESTLING.
Lesson 1) Wrestling is a TOUGH sport .
Lesson 2) Wrestling is a ROUGH sport
Lesson3) I was there and witnessed the match your whining about, all moves were legal from Gusan, refer to lesson 1 and 2 if you cant take the heat get the HELL out of the kitchen.
Lesson4) A mother running out on the mat when in fact her child was not bleeding nor seriously injured showed a sissy fied son. Not to mention most teenagers would have been embarrassed to have mommy run out on the mat unless they were seriously injured .maybe wrestling isnt the sport for your son.
Lesson 5) Wrestling IS PHYSICAL CONTACT the last time I checked, maybe he should take bowling or tennis, golf not nocking those sports but there is NO physical contact in those sports.
Lesson 6) Most young men take wrestling seriously , meaning they want to continue wrestling in college , its not just to be part of a group, there is a "I "in this sport , because you excell on your own or fail on your own , it is YOUR RECORD , no one else contributes to that record but the wrestler ,so if your son isnt in it to WIN it then again maybe wrestling isnt for him. JUST SAYING.
 If its all about being part of a group consider BOY SCOUTS. -
hang_loosepowerdouble,
1). deleted
2). Lesson 1 & 2 agree.
3). C'mon man!!!, you can come with a better "get out of the kitchen" quote.
4). Maybe the sport is for him.... How is he supposed to stop his mom from coming onto the mat during a match? I'll bet you anything that was one of the
last things he was thinking about during the match. Really nice to call a high school kid " sissy fied". (your word---not mine)!
5). Why would you want to chase a WRESTLER out of wrestling into another sport like " bowling, tennis or golf". He is a WRESTLER and went out to
wrestle again per his coaches advice... And by the way, there are a lot of wrestlers (high school, college and coaches) who are excellent at the 3 "non contact" sports you mentioned.
6). This one needs its own thread!!! -
Dust_E_Roads
Most wrestlers don't want to wrestle in college. Maybe most wrestlers' DADS want them to wrestle in college, but "most" wrestlers? No. No way.powerdouble;1388145 wrote:Lesson 6) Most young men take wrestling seriously , meaning they want to continue wrestling in college .
The % of HS wresters who go on to wrestle in college is microscopically small. It would be the height of irrational thought for "most" of them to want to wrestle in college, because 99% of them would have no reasonable chance of getting what they "want", no matter how hard they work. This would be akin to the 5 year old girl who wants a pony for her birthday to still be wanting a pony when she is 17. -
coachchuckEnough of this monkey sh#% what is it amigos falling from the sky? Yes elwapo amigos are falling from the sky

However, college wrestling is the real deal. Combine that with a full load/demanding major and you are talking a tough, tough road. Can both be done well at the same time? Sure.....
Now my son's #1 priority is his education.....full bore and kicking some *ss there. -

Agree 100%. I've met Travis personally, great wrestler, great kid. Definitely good show of character by Alexander form the story you told as well.coachchuck;1386720 wrote:wtf are you talking about it is the toughest sport out there phusically if you have a kid that is new or is in one of those mismatches DONT PUT HIM IN THE WAY OF A MONSTER PERIOD
i will say this my kid this weekend wrestled in the finals at cities vs alexander from northland kid is a beast my kid is a first year wrestler i told him to go hard and wrestle would i have been mad if he would of got hurt yes would i be upset if got embarrassed no i knew without a shadow of a doubt he was going to lose i talked to anthony personally and said dont be a bully and he was fine with that getting three or four takedowns then pinning my kid all was well
same boat last year vs westerville central hvy the coach asked travis to take it easy get some work but dont be a d&*$ about it two takedowns a half and that was it if you saw what happened explain why the kid got up and then got set untill his coachs were screaming sit down we need a trainer grow up either go hard or dont wrestle either way i dont care but dont take a person issue you got and try to use this as a platform -

Any one who says they saw a mother run out on the mat is lying. Anyone who says a mother went after a wrestler is lying. Anyone who says a mother ran onto the mat while her son was hurt is lying. The truth is a mother checked on her son after the match was over in the hallway outside of the gym and then asked the assistant coach if he really thought that level of force was really necessary. The assistant coach then started screaming that a crazy lady threatened to hit him which is an out and out lie.
I wish all the wrestlers a healthy end to their seasons and hope that all the rumor mongers stick to facts or opinions and not resort to lies. -

While Gusan is indeed a very good wrestler I, for one, am getting a little weary of the Gusan-is-the-only-man-on-the-planet-badder-than-Chuck-Norris talk. Distortions like the one you note above, feed this myth I'm afraid. Like the old stories of Mike Tyson running out of sparring partners because he sent so many to the hospital.
For however tough he is in wrestling, there were about 80 or so kids who completed the Davidson football season without quitting. Gusan was not one of them. Maybe that makes Brian White badder than Chuck Norris. Who knows? I do know this, when Brian White does push-ups, he doesn't push his body up...he pushes the earth down! -

SEE WHO WINS STATE CHAMP, DID YOU ??? DIDNT THINK SO, continue to bash and talk all your bullsh** you want , as for football it is a TEAM SPORT , wrestling NOT so much, each individual reflect there own record, wins, losses as you already know. As for Gusan quitting football , I heard Gusan wanted to focus on WRESTLING not Football, not worth his time to continue to play he couldnt be HELD BACK in wrestling unlike FOOTBALL . Bigger and Better with Wrestling for Gusan.Dust_E_Roads;1388551 wrote:Thanks for view from another side, I sincerely appreciate it.

Christ! This is a thread that rivals some of the best on, 'Bucknuts' and 'Huddle' back in the day.
This thread has already been copied and pasted to a Word document by so many who are just waiting to, 're-post' next year at this time!
Anyone here remember, SOUTHPARK AT GRADESCHOOL STATE By VINCED? Anyone?
Remember the brilliant posting regarding SVSM about, I SAW THE FALL? HAHAHAHHAHAHA! (Some of our Mods will remember both.)
Take it for what it is. Let the rest go.
HS wrestlers have more to infiltrate their heads than the nonsense here. Stuff like...Girls. Grades. Wrestling. Eating. Popularity, etc, etc.
We are much more hung up about their psyche than they are.

Never in favor of quitting ANYTHING you start, but people sometimes have legitimate reasons to do what they do. Plus, coach White isn't everyone's cup of tea! I don't think he pushed down the earth while at Groveport either.Dust_E_Roads;1388551 wrote:Thanks for view from another side, I sincerely appreciate it.

lowsingle174Let the record reflect that Chuck Norris Blows Bubbles with beef jerky..
As far as the thread is concerned, has Gusan hit 100 wins yet? I think we may have been side-tracked a bit...

snugglyhippolet the record show that all atopthesummit references will be in the format of "atopthesummit^" Because, you see, that lil triangle is in fact "the summit" to which he was refering. Here's hoping Gusan and all others get ^ this weekend.
