USMCdevil2005I think they beat Stuebenville and that's about it. I think Forrider goes the distance 3-0 but st ed's and blair are too much in the team point for the Monarchs to beat. I do want to say that I think this is awesome that central ohio team is now going up to battle with these wrestling power houses though! Coach Andrews has this program on the path for greatness! Keep it up!

pugluvI will take Steubenville over Marysville...Eds and Blair over both Steubenville and Marysville...and Blair over Eds...would love to watch this
-
cruiser_96
While, to me, some of the luster is lost with Graham beating Eds, lets face it.... It Eds/Blair!!! My guess is, if it's not being updated almost to the second, I have to think it ends up online somewhere at some point.pugluv;1376234 wrote:I will take Steubenville over Marysville...Eds and Blair over both Steubenville and Marysville...and Blair over Eds...would love to watch this -
Matsideseems like a gamble or is it great confidence in human mind
you know if brackets in St. John for team duals were regional based as in R1 vs R2, R3 vs R4 etc then the finals had a good chance of being north vs south sections of state -
whereas team seeding is done by some gang of 7 with Brakeman as chair (Brakeman known as north state bias easily IDed) - and who knows the bias of those selecting the gang of 7 - of course there it is done same as none in BCS Bowl - you know what I am saying
so with this as a premise good or bad - with regional brackets set up by sections of state would lead to Marysville vs St. Edwards in finals - Marysville has shot at state champion and at very least runner up - both trophies and bragging rights
with gang of 7 and Marysville loses to St. Eds in this dual then all with North bias will point to that one dual during seeding, will they not - you know there is bias jis seeding, just look at BCS championship - no way that happens otherwise
now there are those around that I have had conversations in old days of my forum regular activity that simply says yea Matside but you have to meet them sometime what is the difference - and as always and once again I say fighting for second is just as big as fighting for first as third has little impact in scheme of bragging rights - nice but just not same as being in the big one and thus named a finalists
so yes sounds good for Marysville but is it strategic given team dual seeding format - or does Marysville know something we do not know - -
It is what it isMarysville beats Steubenville, but goes 1-2 overall!

Booger BoyThis is a big deal for Central Ohio, everybody complains that we get no respect in the State of Ohio with Wrestling. Marysville has put a schedule together that is second to none. We should all be Mville fans this weekend ! When the rest of central Ohio worrie s about who they have in sectionals 7 districts, Mville is getting ready to face Ed's, Blair & Steubenville. Add on Brecksville, Top Gun, Moeller Duals, Clay & Loveland these guys are battle tested. Andrews does a hell of job, and the funny thing is Marysville has 0 money. So I asked the other top tier schools in central Ohio step up and put these guys on the schedule. I talked to Forrider and Boyd this week and both are a 100 % confident they will walk out of there 3-0. You gotta love that atitidude. Hell Boyd was a JV wrestler his Freshman year, did not wrestle a varsity match until he was a sophomore. Now he is one of the top guys in the state. We can wrestle each ther in central Ohio until the cows come home. But nothing is gonna happen until Central Ohio coaches step up and wrestle a competitive schedule outside of central Ohio. I'm out

cruiser_96See you, booger boy. Great post though.
Kind of wish he would have stuck around. Starting to enjoy a new "voice" on here. -
double arm barsWesterville North, DeSales , Olentangy, have all gone to Eds in the last few years. Marysville has just recently bumped up their schedule. We will see what's left of them come Sunday morning. Going to Eds is whole new ball game and out of their league. There's making a good schedule and then there's insanity
-
cruiser_96Since booger boy has left, I have to ask... What if? Not saying what if they win, but what if they compete? And compete well???
The Port got matched up with Eds once. ...Once. -

Great post Booger! I agree 110%! I hope they do well! I am rooting for them!Booger Boy;1376464 wrote:This is a big deal for Central Ohio, everybody complains that we get no respect in the State of Ohio with Wrestling. As far as double arm bars..... That is building a schedule. It's not insanity. WHy is it insanity to want to see the best competition and see where you need to be to get to that level to compete with them and win??? Were you the guy in the room who just wrestled all the easy guys, and complained when coach put you with someone who would whip your butt hoping to show you that there is stuff you need to work on? I don't think you would be that way. Anyone who wants to get better and be the best would not be that way. They would want to face the best and that is what the Monarchs are doing. KUDOS COACH ANDREWS!!! Great stuff! -
double arm barsMarysville is a wrestling town they've been good for 40+ years. Just surprised this is the first time they've scheduled a meet against Steds. Making a good schedule goes beyond just putting tough teams on the schedule. Lets address this on Sunday after the gauntlet of making wt 3 xs and 6 matches.

USMCdevil2005
I agree with you completely but I think Marysville is at that stage where they should start teams like this. I think they are at the point were they should be looking into putting stuff like this on their schedule. Let's agree to disagree. Marysville has a great schedule, there's no doubt about that. This is one event on their schedule that they may go into and not do as well as they have done at others. That being said, maybe that is what coach Andrews wants out of this. To see where his team stands with competitors like this and what he has to do to improve to be those competitors. That would be my thought as a coach with a program like this.double arm bars;1376632 wrote:Marysville is a wrestling town they've been good for 40+ years. sforriderIn order to place at the state Tournament you have to weigh in 3x in 3 days. This is always a goal is to make weight the third time!
-
Half Full Nelson
If you want to be the best, you have to seek out and wrestle the best. True not just for individuals, but teams as well. Good luck Monarchs! Make central Ohio proud!USMCdevil2005;1376833 wrote:I agree with you completely but I think Marysville is at that stage where they should start teams like this. double arm barsIn order to place at state you only make wt 2x It should be 3x.
Anyway making weight 6 x in 10 days isn't fun for any wrestler, parent, wife of coach etc. The only bonus is they won't have to practice. Good luck and lets revisit this the next 2 sundays -
USMCdevil2005I think these kids will be fine at making weight. They are seasoned vets and are pretty much dedicated athletes and most likely manage their diets very well.

sforridersorry my bad feels like 3 weigh in to us parents.

That made me laugh. -
iGranbyI see no reason why the Monarchs cant be competitive in at least two, if not all 3 of their duals? They're the best program in Central Ohio for a reason.
