I guess I am a bit slow, at 23:30 anyway. How do I get to the brackets (other than the sample 16 man bracket)?ptown3;1388819 wrote:Watkins sectional on top of it, brackets on baums

The2cKDudeLeib to 126 was a good decision on his part. assuming no one else moved up (haven't checked yet) he will have a much better shot of getting out there than at thr loaded 120. To me he has to be the favorite here.
Just a shame it had to come at the expense of a tough kid in Bankes. -

132 will be fun -- Messerall has stepped up his game and I think he will win as well. Scott has been hurt, but not sure how serious. I think he started the year at 26 with Bankes at 32, so he might be small here. However, if he gets by the solid Taranto, I think he matches up well with McGrath and will advance to finals. That said, nothing against McGrath but I like Taranto and could see him pulling the upset if he beats Scott. If Scott does lose to Taranto, i think he beats Barnes in the wrestle backs. I'm pretty sure these two wrestled last year a couple times with Scott winning both times.iGranby;1388908 wrote:I'll shoot out a few thoughts.

Agree on 145 -- I could see those four finishing in any order here. All of these kids are excellent. Hammond could definitely win his semi and while Driscoll has struggled with injuries and seems to still be playing catch up from last year when he was much smaller, he could also advance to finals. This would be a great weight to watch.
160 should feature a good final between wooden and the pick central wrestler. After that, this is the biggest toss up of the sectional in my opinion. I do think King will edge Thompkins both in the champ bracket and in the 3/4 match, though. -

120 - No brainer on Timchenko here, but the seeding in Central Ohio doesn't offer any love for previous district qualifiers apparently, this puts Ackley at an advantage for the 2 spot. Eaton he ran through the #2 and #3 seed to ultimately take 2nd in the tourney. He is no stranger to tough matches and will take to this once tough bracket and make the bottom half his. I haven't seen much of Smiley but I know enough about him to where he can be dangerous, I have him over Stratton in their match-up which favors him for a match-up against Terry in the 3/4 finals.
126 - This sectional has shifted to make a tougher 126 now with the addition of Lieb filling in for the injured Bankes. I think Hogue should have been the #1 seed here but then again I don't know if they have a head/head differential or like above no love for the past. I have Hogue meeting and beating Lieb in the finals with Coleman beating Jones in the 3/4
Uggh meeting time - I'll chime in on more later if I get time -

Interesting thought on this... Bankes majored Hogue I believe? I wonder if Lieb beats Bankes in the watkins room?nykc;1389023 wrote:120.

ptown3The #2 seed ackley majored at eaton, terry majored at GMVWA. I think should be an exciting match between the two. Both pretty tough!
-
nykcI agree ptown3 - I am excited for this...
As for 126 - Unfortunately I do not know much about Hogue or Bankes or even Lieb for that matter. Bankes was the favorite here obviously, I am not sure how Lieb and Bankes do in the wrestling room together, but more importantly has Hogue and Bankes ever rolled around? -

according to jakeswrestling, bankes majored hogue at the state dual, or did you mean "has Hogue and Lieb ever rolled around?"nykc;1389083 wrote:I agree ptown3 - I am excited for this...

ptown3Wrestling kids in your room is a good amount different then wrestling kids for the first time in my opinion. You know exactly what they use to set up their shots, i think for the most part people are more cautious or more agressive against the kids the wrestle every single day, they dont exactly wrestle them how they would if they never met before
-
nykcI meant lieb and hogue

bump_and_run
Agreed. I was just stretching for some logic for why the coaches voted Lieb No. 1 over Hogue -- not sure I can put my finger on any common opponents this season and jakeswrestling, for what it's worth, shows none.ptown3;1389102 wrote:Wrestling kids in your room is a good amount different then wrestling kids for the first time in my opinion. bump_and_runI'm sure it was close. He probably just "caught" him, right?
How did the lieb/hogue match go? -
The2cKDude
Lancia was up 4-0 when he got him. it was a solid match up to that point, but lancia was getting the better of him for sure.bump_and_run;1390530 wrote:I'm sure it was close. He probably just "caught" him, right?

Leib beat Hogue 5-3 in OT, best match of the day in my opinion -
