he beat pick central's talented Pieczynski wrestling up at 45.

he also made it to the finals of marion harding where he lost to liberty center's niner 16-9. Niner placed at state in D3 last year -- sixth through fourth maybe, somewhere in there?

they have st ed's number, although if they were to wrestle him, lancia would wbf.

Comfort is a tough dude. He is a good wrestler. I think he is in the running for that 4th spot at 138. Right along with Miller, Dunn, Lawler, and im sure there is someone im missing. Lets face it, I think the onyl way possible that Forrider, Alexander and McDougle all dont take up the top three spots is if by some how, one of them loses in the opening round or quarters at Darby and then have to knock each other off in the go to match of the wrestle backs. But I dont see that happening. Crazier things have happened though.... John Darnell from Teays Valley Pinning Chad Channel in the wrestle backs at Districts in 08. Channel lost to Burkhardt I believe of Westerville North in the First or Second round that year then had to battle all the way back. Zac Conn returning district Champ got beat in the second round by Tyler Regan of Miamisburg and then had to wrestle Millar from Hilliard Davidson in the go to bout and lost by a point. So crazy stuff happens at Darby! We all know that! It's whoever wants it that weekend.

Strong possibility that Comfort and Miller will wrestle the QUARTER final round at Marysville and the loser probably stays home the next week.
  • Go_Wrestle
McDougle, Miller, Forrider, Alexander have much stronger wins and are dedicated year round wrestlers...Not saying Comfort isn't, just don't think he measures up to those four. Who knows anyone can have a bad day though. Good luck to them all!

I think Miller plays football. Does Comfort?

I think one of the 4, most likely Miller, will knock one or the other off in the go to match of the wrestle backs. Just my prediction. If all the cards drop correctly, and bracketing plays a huge role in this, then they all are actually the 4 best in my opinion. That being said I think one of these tough wrestlers could be sitting in the stands at the Schott in their street clothes instead of wrestling gear. I think Forrider and Alexander are sectional finalist and district finalist, and possibly state finalist! That would be awesome.

not doubting, just curious... who are Miller's stronger wins? And as far as this season goes, what about McDougle's? I know mcdougle missed a significant portion of the season due to injury, and speaking of that, how has he looked since he came back? did anyone see his match against Teays?

Even if they play football I guarentee they are somewhere on a mat atleast one night a week during football season. I played football but participated in Attack Club with Coach Simpson every week. Or I would venture to Urbana on Wednesdays sometimes, Or thursdays with Coach Marinelli at Power Club. Point im trying to make is they may be 2 or 3 sport athletes but im sure they participate still in practices atleast once a week.

Dunn wrestled against McDougle at Gahanna losing 11-4 I believe. He was battling some injuries as well during that match and that is why he sat out last week at The Cruiser. I am not sure where he is going for post season. He can get to 132 or he can stay at 138. We will all just have to wait and see where he ends up at Sectionals. He is tough though. Hard to wrestle. THe kid is Gumby!

Re Miller, according to Jake's page:
    Ricky Simonelli (12/2012) current season
    Aaron Yarger (12/2011) freshman season
    Andrew Mullen (12/11) freshman season
    Nathan Salmon (12/12) current season
    Emilio Dibennedetto (2/12) freshman season

And this past weekend, second place losing only to Ryan Skonieczny (St. V) at Austintown

Maybe he should give football another chance?

as far as this year goes, the nate salmon win is pretty good. did salmon place at states last year?

either way, hard to believe that either miller or comfort won't even make it out of sectionals this year.

well, unless one of them bumps, which i think probably has a 50/50 chance. i guess the question is does miller because he knows he has two more years left and figures the experience at darby at 45 would be good, or does comfort because he has no years left and just wants to make the show at this point?

maybe they both bump only to find alexander there waiting for them? stranger things have happened...

Comfort neither. Hasn't played since the DFL (youth football) days, I believe.

2 spots pretty much locked up there.....Jake Ryan and Bobby smith. That leaves 2 spots for a trip to the Schott. Pollitt probably is a good bet to go. Best thing to do is choose the weight that fits you best....and give it all you have. Sometimes guys cutting/bumping to where "the grass is greener" get burned.

    Just sayin'

wise words!! and i was joking about a bump to 52 :)
  • USMCdevil2005
I hear Pollitt is dead set on 145. I would honestly stay at 152. I think 132-145 is loaded already! There are hammers everywhere!

I'm thinking we should remove a weight class from 126 to 160 and put a weight class at either 100 or go with a 212, and bump 220 up to 230. That's sounds like a great idea.
