    Some great matches on tap:

    * Central Distric HVY preview with all 3 top rated HVY's on tap (Gusan, Akatsu, and Evanichko), plus Nader from Gahanna.

    * Alexander (NL) vs. D. McDougle (GL) at 138

    * Wilson (HD) vs. K. McDougle (GL) at 132

Other top District wrestlers like Mowery and Lybarger also "in the house". Should be some good rasslin'.

Looks like a nice little tune up tourney for Post season time!

Can't wait for ALexander vs. McDougle! Love it!

    Final Results?????
  • Dust_E_Roads
Gusan vs. Akutsu was a repeat of their match at Pick North in December. Gusan by decision 3-1.

    How did this matchup turnout?
  • Kras
Matchup never occurred. McDougle walked thru the field. I heard Alexander defaulted after a close escape vs Westerville South (sure appeared Alexander was stuck twice in that match)
  • Kras
Also, arguably one of the worst administered tournaments attended this year. At least a dozen incidents of distracted table workers failing to either run down & tap official at end of period, consistent incorrect match scoring, wrestlers getting 20-30 vs 45 minutes between matches.

was it ws kid llaneza? He is coming on looking good.
  • Kras
No. LLaneza wrestled well and took 2nd @ 145, losing to Staten from Mt Vernon 8-2 in the final.
  • bump_and_run
Then who almost stuck Alexander? and was he 38 or 45?

You guys say the tournament wasn't run well, but hey you're not doing much better with the commentary! lol! just kidding!!

Wasn't there, but was told Lomano @138 had him absolutely stuck once and almost 2x. Alexander reportedly stated at tournament he had flu. won match 16-13 Horrible result w/ w/out flu for Alexander
  • Kras
Alex went 4-1, finished 4th cuz he couldn't wrestle in final due to 5 match rule. Received a forfeit in conso semis due to Grove City kid unable to go. Lost to Pearson wrestling Pearson's match. . My best recollection of results:
106 - Transue DJ over Mt Vernon
113 - Mt. Vernon over Transue DJ
    120 - DJ over Westland
132 - McDougle GL over Wilson
    138 - McDougle GL
145 - Staten MV over LLanza WS
152 - Neeley UA over Pearson DJ
    160
    170
    182
    195
    220
285 - Gusan vs. Akutsu was a repeat of their match at Pick North in December. Gusan by decision 3-1

Lamano's a solid wrestler, and no offense to him, but if Alexander wrestles like that at Marysville, he doesn't get out vs. Miller and Comfort in a battle for that third and fourth spot...

I wasn't there, so I won't pile on. But I do have a question about the between match breaks. Is 45 minutes a firm OHSAA/NFHS rule or is it considered a courtesy? I've been at two tourneys this year where my son got less than 20 minutes between matches. I thought it was uncool and had always heard that 45 mins is the rule, but I was not sure how firm that rule is. Anyone know?

It was Nick lomano. Had him on his back 2x's. Not my place but seems if you are sick you should go home and rest. Alexander stayed at the tourn. all day and was hanging out talking with all the kids. One bad day will not deteremine what will happen in weeks to come.

Thought it was a well run tourny. Out by six. Really loved giving the kids awards right on mat. Just my opionion.

Yes he did. I was told Chappelear passed out in the stands after the match, he defaulted out of the tourney. Some kids did wrestle with very short breaks but the tourney did run fast. Not always a bad thing to get out faster but it is a rule you must get 45 min break between matches.

Anybody know if the Dublin scioto kid is allright. Not sure if it was 145 or 152 but he looked pretty banged up.

Hope Chappy is feeling ok! As far as Alexander.... We all have bad days! He will be ok come post seasons.

lol and hopefully so will the other 38s he tangled with... not the time of year you want to catch something.

of course, almost certainly not the real flu. that's serious stuff! probably just a nasty cold.
  • Kras
Neeley handled Chappy by about 5. Chappy was hyperventilating in the stands before match with Alex, that's why he didn't get the 5th match.
It was Trocchio the 152 from Scioto vs Pearson in the other 152 semi, heard that Trocchio left with a concussion on takedown at end of 1st period.

I think tyler zeller from mt vernon was the 126 champ
