USMCdevil2005What about the Nick boggs kid from Riverside I believe that was unseeding at 132 and won Medina? Is that an out of state team?

He has him at 13. Riverside is in the Mentor area.USMCdevil2005;1353746 wrote:What about the Nick boggs kid from Riverside I believe that was unseeding at 132 and won Medina? Is that an out of state team? -
USMCdevil2005I see now. I think he should be a little higher.

132 was very weak at Medina, Williams whom he met in the finals, is behind him, both were right around each other in the rankings goingf in (Like 15ish).USMCdevil2005;1353974 wrote:I see now. I think he should be a little higher. -
USMCdevil2005I see boro. Good stuff man. Keep it up.

double unders 90Akutsu(Scioto) not in picture at 285 D1?

nykcHas Taleb Rahmani competed yet? I see he is still ranked pretty high for never wrestling at 120. Kinda discredits the other kids behind him in my opinion.

A kid that good deserves to be ranked as long as he is still going to participate.nykc;1355530 wrote:Has Taleb Rahmani competed yet? I see he is still ranked pretty high for never wrestling at 120. Kinda discredits the other kids behind him in my opinion.
He has the credentials to back it up IMO.
Now if it were some average to good kid that hasnt yet laced them up then I would agree with you to hold off on ranking him. -
nykcI still have to disagree and hold off judgement until he actually wrestles a Penzone, Wimer, Timchenko, Valenti, etc... He placed at states at 106 last year, 120 is/was a little tougher weight class IMO
-
Westie101Boro, hope to see former sq Derik Kopp 138 from Columbian make the cut in your next rankings. He has a win over #16 Yarnell this year and was champ at columbian. pretty tough kid!

I totally agree with this! 120 is way tougher than 106. I dont see Rahmani Placing maybe not even qualifying at 120.nykc;1355546 wrote:I still have to disagree and hold off judgement until he actually wrestles a Penzone, Wimer, Timchenko, Valenti, etc... Coach Ramirez120 might be tougher this year, but last year, all 4 of our state qualifiers at 106 finished top 6 in the state. That is pretty good!

I think if any of them get stuffed out, it will be Valenti. His kind of style wont work against Timchenko, or Rahmani, essentially, i dont think he'll catch them. I'd mark it up at;USMCdevil2005;1355650 wrote:I totally agree with this! 120 is way tougher than 106. I dont see Rahmani Placing maybe not even qualifying at 120.
1.Timchenko
2.Rahmani
3.Wimer
4.Penzone
5.Valenti
Regardless, it's a VERY tough group of kids. -

Id be shocked if all stay there.
Wimer 113??? Can Rahmani drop?
Will Rooney drop to 120?
Will anyone bump to 126 to avoid said minefield?
Remember last yr Fiorrucci was a last second surprise drop to 126. -
Coach RamirezDont forget Kakos, he will also be in the mix!

My thoughts exactly. Size-wise, if anyone moves down my guess would be Wimer or Rahmani, If someone were to bump up, guess would be Penzone. -

Yes indeed, very tough kid, relatively under the radar too, witch plays in the kid in questions favor a lot of the time, come the post season.Coach Ramirez;1355791 wrote:Dont forget Kakos, he will also be in the mix! -
nykcI can definitely see some shuffling around. Rahmani will be more effective at 113. A two weight class jump is tough, and as a Sophomore against a lineup chock full of seniors with some well seasoned juniors as well - it's a true test of ones ability IMO. Wimer might go down to 113, I don't see why either would stay 120 if they can go down since the pasture is a lot greener down there.
I would also be surprised if Rooney comes down to 120 for the simple fact it is a minefield right now. I look to see several upsets at this weight class in Central Ohio. There are kids in the top 10 at 120 that can compete and upset each other at any time. Where is Fluty from New Albany, Lieb from Watkins, Ackley from Thomas, Snyder from Pick North, Gasca from West (I am sure I am missing others as well) I know this weight class better than I should namely because I have a 120 wrestling in it. I watched several of these kids wrestle over the past couple of years. I honestly cannot wait until the smoke clears after this explosion because I feel it is one of the toughest weight classes in Central Ohio this year along with 126. -

maybe off-topic but just want to echo this shout-out to central O's d1 106s last year -- one of the bright spots (IMO) in our performance at state! here's hoping one of our 120s can give the solon, perry or clay kid a run for the title this year!Coach Ramirez;1355670 wrote:120 might be tougher this year, but last year, all 4 of our state qualifiers at 106 finished top 6 in the state. hmmm. not totally disagreeing with you, but i humbly suggest that 132 and 138 are a notch tougher than 126 (if we're talking top four). Agree that 120 is brutal, tho, and probably the toughest in our district this year.nykc;1355821 wrote:I honestly cannot wait until the smoke clears after this explosion because I feel it is one of the toughest weight classes in Central Ohio this year along with 126. -
iGranbyMy dark horse pick at the district is Lieb, I think he'll finish 4th-6th.

I agree with this too though... Valenti is i'd definetly have to say number 5 or lower. Kakos gets out this year I think. This weight class is stacked. Teays has a tough freshman who is out due to injury right now that will be here, Latham. Very tough freshman. Can't wait til DARBY!iGranby;1355737 wrote:I think if any of them get stuffed out, it will be Valenti. When is Rahmani supposed to come back? Heard Brecksville, but he didn't wrestle, and you could still see a difference is his walk. Before I would throw him in the top 2-4 , I would like to see him on the mat first, especially at 120. Until then, I wouldn't put him in the mix of the top 5.USMCdevil2005;1355880 wrote:I agree with this too though... Valenti is i'd definetly have to say number 5 or lower.
