  • ptown3
You think rooney goes 126, since he was 132 at the all star meet amd i heard he doesnt enjoy cutting.
  • upset_125
It will be interesting to see what happens with bobby smith. As for Rooney, maybe he will drop to 126 later. Possibly just testing the waters at 132.
  • theviking

I wasnt sure on the weights either but was just throwing some names of some good kids. Just trying to help start filling in some blanks. Im not purposely leaving anyone out either. Its just too early with no results to pour thru yet.
Maybe not all state contenders but knocking on the door for sure.

Its good to just get some discussions going!
What happened to the devildog's list???lol

I dont think BS wrestled last week.
  • ptown3
Definatly think Santino Disabito is a name that should be in the discussion at 113, kid makes huge leaps every year and has a win over wimer in freestyle, which i believe wimer actually had one summer of experiance in freestyle over him.

Agreed I thought he was already in there.

I guess a good start for our list would be too look at all the SP then the DQ and see who is still around and where they are and work off of that.
  • 1prouddad
I love reading about the D1 guys but where are the D2 gurus? Would like to see thoughts on the best Central Ohio D2 wrestlers.

Below is a comma-delimited list of 2011-12 Central District qualifiers, their 2011-12 schools, their 2011-12 stats/weights, and their 2012-13 grades. Maybe someone who knows more than I do about regional talent could import this into a spreadsheet, update the weights, add quality transfers and freshmen, and have a pretty good start at a list of likely 2012-13 Central District contenders.

Im sure with Bobby now at 145 and Penzone dropping to 120, the 126 class looks much more appealing.

Division I coaches will receive an email Monday morning (more than likely it'll be Sunday afternoon). After I get their feedback, I'll post it on here.

huntergreen26: I think starting with team rankings to be submitted to the Columbus Dispatch makes sense. Try to ease our way in. Plus, team a re a bit easier than 14 weight classes, three deep. If they don't put our team ranks in, I doubt they put both team and individual.

Anywho, look for something next Monday.

Also, HUGE tournament this weekend at Pickerington North. A few big ones will be there.

    Central Ohio D2 Rankings etc...

    Since it isn't pre-season anymore

Huntergreen - Thanks!!!!!! Nice to see some sense of who's who in D2 Central Ohio!

If you mainly look at Sectionals and Districts, at 160 Navin (granville) went 1-2 at districts and Young (Whitehall) went 0-2. I think Navin beat Young for his one win and Young's second loss. If other factors are taken into account - no problem - just remember following the 160 bracket there last year as we had a state placer @ 160 last year that took 3rd at Claymont.

    NYKC - Agreed!

No. Our freshmen team could beat our junior high. Plus the junior high has differing weights. We'd have to use catch-weights... but it'd still be close.
