    Thanks, Cruiser!

Interesting to see that Cbus 182 City Champ Stockton moved up to 195 for sectionals. The Stockton-Juty match should it happen pitting City Champ vs. City Champ possibly in semi's would be fun one to watch.
  • Westie101
Pantherdad, Stockton has bumped up to wrestle Juty 3 times over the last two seasons and it has always been a close and exciting match. Juty leads the series 2-1.

Westie, love to see when kids bump to get best match possible instead of protecting a record, only makes them better and prepares them for times like now. I noticed they gave Stockton a (5) but didn't see a(3) listed. Was this a typo or ?
  • Westie101
I'm assuming it was. There are a few seed typo's through it looks like.
  • pantherdad2312
That makes it a bit better then. I was thinking to have a 32-4 record and only getting a (5) seed the waters were pretty rough.

a 32-4 record means really nothing in comparison to kids from marysville and davidson kids w 8 to 10 losses. You HAVE to consider schedule. We have seen many kids w great records lose to kids w records that are much worse. Strength of sched matters very much and the coaches understand that.

A very good point slow and steady. To city league coaches credit, it's not like they are getting accepted into Medina and North Canton and most coaches try their best to put together a solid schedule. Although I will say that Stockton has earned his 32-4 record, been wrestling very well this year.

I agree slow-n-steady though the kids can only wrestle who is in front of them and Stockton obviously tries to get the best competition he can. Personally I could see my son mature on the mat and was more proud of him in his losses at Medina than many of his wins.

Zeller (120) is the number 3 seed? Ackley (TW) beat him 5-2 at the Cardinal Classic and why is his name not listed at 120? He's not injured

I fixed the omission. Sorry about that. Yes Zeller is the 3 seed. I believe you have to have a winning record to get seeded regardless of head to head.
  • nykc
Okay thanks you scared the hell outta me. And makes sense, he is 13-14 he'll be tough there.
  • Westie101
So Ackley beat Zeller and Gasca beat Ackley. Should be a very competitive bracket.
  • nykc
Yeah, Ackley actually wants a rematch with Gasca. I think 120 could be interesting here. Ackley also beat Tate from Davidson who apaprently didn't make sectionals for whatever reason in the finals at the Cardinal Classic. 11 - 2.
  • Westie101
Ackley has some length to him for a 20 pounder, I have no idea how this bracket is going to workout.

Just some food for thought here.

    4. Gray W

    Team
    1. Marysville - With 6 Champs and a total of 12 qualifiers, I think it should be enough to take the team title.

    2. Hilliard Davidson- With 7 Champs you would think it should be enough to take a team title, but in this case I think only qualifying 9 total will hurt them. Coach D, you need a hvy weigh. With the younger TAte out it hurts as well.

    3. Mount Vernon - I think they're third here but no where near the top 2.
  • nykc
Ackley is a scrapper, don't let his record fool you. He has only wrestled for 3 years and had some bad draws in his tournaments this year. He was a district alternate when he was a freshmen, last year he was eliminated by Suhr - he caught Suhr but couldn't pin him before time expired. Depending on how he is set up in the brackets I am sure he will be a tough match for most of the kids in his class and wouldn't be suprised if he places.

Okay now that we know what's what...

Alexander / Forrider will be a good one, not to much is known about Alexander, coming from a city league I also believe he is overlooked. He is my upset pick, although I could be wrong. Will be a good finals.

As far as Davis and Sparks - Davis is a tough kid, I actually think Bloss has a shot at taking Davis out but I think there will be some upsets with Davis being one of them.

But Alexander was at Coffman last year....don't think he will sneak up on anyone.
