Well you know St Ed "B" - green will bring some studs. One of their guys beat Jackson from Hartley at 215 recently. Not to mention Mr. Moore at 112. Could be a state placer but can't break into the varsity line-up....amazing
  • USMCdevil05
Oh how i would kill for depth in a line up like that!
  • cruiser_96
I saw St. Eds B team at Marion Harding... STUDS!!! Watch out for their 171 pounder. If he can fit through the door to wrestle, he fill the gym with his shoulders! Paint him green and call him Hulk. Seriously.

Can you imagine the competition in their practice room on a daily basis? I imagine you'd better strap it on each and every day or get swallowed up....

Anyone know if Bailey Licking Heights #125 will be back in the line-up?
    Also, Maynard & Dunlap...who"s #135 & who's going #140?
at #112 Moore (St Eds "B") vs (LH) Price could be one to watch.

We know that LH will be ready to protect their home mats. As always the St Ed kids will be ready to wrestle. Whitehall is loaded Granville and Watkins Memorial both finished in the top 10 at West Jeff. Here are a few kids and weight classes to look out for. Fill in anybody else that you can think of:

    103 kakos FH
112 Herrera WN, Moore ST Ed, Price LH
    119 Bloss FH
    125
    130 Ouzts WN, Jones BX
    135 Alger WN, Dunlap LH
    140 Straight WH
    145 Lancia WM
    152 Scott LH, Minillo Grandview
    160
    171 Clark WH
    189 Kent Grandville
    215 Satterthwaite Grandview, Gordon Grandville
    285 Settles HT, Willis Grandville

No disrespect to Price, for he is a Central Ohio kid, and thus, one of my horses. But I saw Moore wrestle. The dude is LEGIT!!! MANHANDLED the Goshen District champ something like 14-0 or 14-1. The crazy thing... it wasn't even as claose as the score indicated.

Again, Price is a gamer and I look for him to place at the Schott this year. And if the upset occurs, I'll love it. But Moore is just on a completely different level than most high school wrestlers. It just so happens that his workout partner happens to be a kid on his level.

Manillo is at 145--wrestled it at Ready tourn..........lost to Tate from Ready for 3rd place

For what it's worth... St. Eds Green lost to Hilliard Bradley at Sylvania Southview Duals. With the exception of Moore, they are a very young, very beatable team. I don't remember the 215 match although it's not a good weight at Bradley.

Don't forget about Yager at 171 and if Maynard shows up at 140 these two will be tough at home. Last year it. was Westerville norths b team is it the A team this year?

Agree...although I wonder if Moore will be at #119 this weekend...and if so, would Price go up for the competition?

Got to watch Bright (St. Eds starter @112) at Medina. Didn't think he looked particularly great in his finals match, but he DISMANTLED the competition in the matches I saw him wrestle day 1. Bright and Moore in the same practice room everyday is an advantage few schools can have...especially at the lower weightclasses

Gotta throw Maynard (LH) #140 and Yeager (LH) #171 in the mix, as both are capable of having a big tournament. Straight #140 from Whitehall is a really tough kid. Watkins will make some noise with Cameron #152, and Giffin #160. Also, Frantz (St.Eds) #215

Just got official word from Coach Ramsey that due to injuries and below half a line up St Edward Green won’t be making the trip down for the tournament. Not sure how much this will change the dynamics of the tournament but there will be some very good wrestling going on this weekend.
  • cruiser_96
I could see Price bumping up to get the competition. But that would only be if St. Eds was making the trip... It appears they fear Price and the rest of Central Ohio. Mwah ha ha ahhh....
  • lowsingle174
St. Eds did this at Ashland Tournament this year as well. I can only assume as cruiser said, They fear Price and the rest of Central Ohio.

Chris Leben will be there. I think.

Add in Dean Heil and Chance Driscoll and that's a lot of talent between 112 & 119 working out every day in practice. Ed's has a number of guys dinged up otherwise they certainly would be at this tournament. Earlier post was correct, Green team is very young and inexperienced with two or three exceptions. Keep an eye on freshman Dzuro @ 160, very tough freshman.

Watkins Memorial brings in a 140/145 Nick Lancia who is somewhere around 20-4, took 3rd at West Jefferson, tough sophomore. 152 Cameron is 18-2 and missed west jefferson with Pnemonia. 160 is Bo Giffen who is around 20-5 and a district qualifier last year. Also bringing in a tough heavyweight in Jarrade Shough who missed the county tournament, and his shot at Willis, earlier in the season as well as the West Jeff tourny with an illness but he is 10-2 thus far with losses in the finals at Union Local and to the Kid from New Philadelphia last weekend at Meadowbrook. All four of these wrestlers should compete for titles this weekend as well as acouple more potential surpises at 103, 112, 125, and 171. All those kids wrestling to thier potential should crack some kind of placement.

For what it's worth, they were told they had a 2 lb weight allowance prior to the tournament then were told that had been rescinded earlier in the week. Everyone wrestled up a weight class.
