It was on CGTV5. Not sure of the schedule and how many times it will be playing... -
cradle3Circleville was up around 9-1 or so at the begininng of the 1st. The F.U. boy had established a lead late in the 3rd, somewhere in the ball park of 17-16. Circleville takes a timeout (which lasts forever), they go back in & Circleville has regained energy. The DQ came when F.U. was kicking his opponent out & the opponent was unable to base up.

Thanks! -
Dad4SportsNice job by the AC coaches ducking Ankrom on Sat....guess they really wanted that 2nd place league finish for Dilley (didn't wrestle Ankrom or Hutchins)

Where were these posted from? Surprised no Davis from Circleville at 135,Macioce at 125, or Cowell at 135 since he beat both#2 and #3 Saturday. Maybe selected before Saturday and just now posted.decath;677829 wrote:All-League Honors

HeadoutsideBest way to determine all league honors is have them wrestle in a tournament. There is way to many intangibles with this method. Many if not all teams move guys around in order to win the dual meet. There would be numerous changes to the honored wrestlers under a tournament format. Hutchens would pin Dilley, Nace has beaten Tullius numerous times outside of the league. Emmonds didnt have enough matches to get a ranking. There are many more examples this is just a quick few.

Correct. There is no good way to rank kids in the league by weight when every team moves kids around each week to get a team win. But there is no better way to determine a true MSL Team champion that Round Robbin duals like we do now. The focus is on team's. Individual rankings is just a byproduct from the team duals. -

Nope.....meeting was yesterday. No coaches vote....went strictly by the criteria set forth in the bylaws.....whatever those areloganelmdad;677912 wrote:Where were these posted from? What is the date of this imaginary tournament?
145 Dietrich was 2-0 against Pinkstock before he broke his hand. (actually 1-0 before the break, 1-0 after the break and before the cast was put on)
189 Ford was 1-1 with Chenetski. The win was in OT at LE, and The loss in the duals was the match that put him out with his injury. (Both very good wrestlers)
I think you are pretty accurate.
About 10 of the 14 weights would not have changed if it was a bracket. -
rasslerWhere has USMCdevil been? He is usually all over the MSL thread.

GmanWell since we do not have a tourney to decide individual won't sectionals then districts bring out the best of the best . What I mean is kids will be at their respected weight they do well at sectionals then you may see them face each other at districts since schools are going to different sectionals.

I agree, no disrespect to the boys that are listed above, I'm certain they all deserve recognition, but how in the world does Davis get left out? I've seen this boy wrestle several times this year.loganelmdad;677912 wrote:Where were these posted from? I know he wrestled against Lancaster and looked very good, surprised that he is not one of the 3 best 135's in the MSL....Did all 3 of 135ers beat Davis? -
bigdawg
Gale_force, Davis is very good and I'm a little surprised that he isn't in the top 3 as well. I know he was out sick for a week or 2, not sure how many duals he missed...Maybe that's what happened. Also, the MSL is very strong this year, I would guess that at least the top 3 or 4 could have been competitive in the OCC this year...Gale_force;678536 wrote:I agree, no disrespect to the boys that are listed above, I'm certain they all deserve recognition, but how in the world does Davis get left out? keato5Davis didnt get beat at 135, he wrestled up a couple times I think and might have missed a match or two.
-
sparky305Thats right keato. He wrestled 145 because detrich broke his hand and we did not have another to insert. Did not fair as well but did so to try and help win a team title.

Coaches vote is the way to go.....sure there would be some arguments, but it would be way more accurate than this criteria thing they used. In league duals, kids are moved all over the place in the line-up to help maximize the "team" results. But then we turn around and use those same results to determine individual awards? Sort of like mixing apples and oranges......
The coaches know who the best kids are in most cases....... -
keato5Agreed it doesnt make sense! Perfect example Hutchins is behind Dilley...... Dilley is a good wrestler but Hutchins is probably on the podium at state this year. I just think its unfair to the kids. If every coach would go into thinking who would I take at each weight class if I had to choose an all-star team....They could easily do the job.
