Mid State League Buckeye..

  • FIREBALL5152
    Thoughts?
  • Dad4Sports
I look for the title to be decided between Canal Winchester, Teays Valley, Circleville & Hamilton Township. Amanda Clearcreek graduated too much to contend this season. Logan Elm, Fairfield Union and Bloom Carroll should be improved. Will BC receive an influx of freshmen to help out their numbers situation?
  • FIREBALL5152
Though I don't see Amanda contending for a league title, word is that Coach Brison is pretty excited. They have the biggest team they have ever had from what I hear. I see the league coming down to TV and CW but Amanda will compete for 3rd.
  • Dad4Sports
I hear we may be seeing some guys return that did not wrestle last year (or more)......the Ford boys from Circleville and Smoot from Teays Valley.
  • USMCdevil05
i think in my personal opinion ( which most of you will not care) Teays will be a little too hard to handle still. Nace, King, Smoot, Morehart, Nace, Luft, Griffith, Brown, Ferrell, and Leidecker, are a pretty tough bunch of kids, and I think canal had there chance last year and the year before that really. Now Canal is still tough and has some good additions in Boswell coming back, but I dont think they can bea t Teays. I think you will see alot of improvment in the circleville and Hamilton Twp squads.

Welcome back devil.....long time since you've been on here!!!
  • USMCdevil05
yes i was on a short vacation! lol! But glad to be back! Had a brand new baby boy a week after the state tourney last year so I had to adjust to having 2 kids instead of 1. I wanted him to be born on the night of the finals! I think it would have been like an omen or something of great great wretling to come from this little guy! But either way i love him and wouldnt care if he played basketball, well maybe i would care a little. lol!

How is the boy doing Dad??? Work his butt off this summer?

Yea....real good summer. Amazing how that realization of only having 1 year left puts a fire in their bellies! Fighting some health issues, but should be good to go soon.

glad to hear dad. Tell him to keep working hard and nothing can stop him. He just has to want it more than the other guys, he knows he can take anyone to the edge! hope to see you guys soon.

Circleville will be at the top somewhere. They are way to strong for a few teams named above them in prior posts. The Ford boys are back and looking great. Not sure how the weights will all break down but from top to bottom C-ville has good experienced wrestlers. I think top four teams will be Circleville, Teays Valley, Canal Winchester and Hamilton Township. Might not be in that order but pretty close. No matter how you look at it this year the MSL Buckeye is loaded.
  • USMCdevil05
i think you have teays and canal battle it out for the top dawg spot, and circvleille and hammy blacking each others eyes for the 3 rd spot.
  • keato5
I think Canal is behind a little this year....They are top heavy with a few studs, but lack the depth.
  • USMCdevil05
I think they have more than a few studs, but will 5 studs be enough to win the league or come close again, i dont know, i think last year was their shot.
  • keato5
Hey a few can be up to 5 cant it....:).....NO 5 Studs cant win you league, not when its a dual format. But it could be interesting depending on how the matchups fall into place.
  • USMCdevil05
yea they matched up almost perfect with teays last year. it was fun, down to the last match, the best way to decide duals. I love a great dual match! God it really gets the blood pumping.
  • MatsandBats
Last years TV vs CW was one of the best duels matches I have ever seen. The gym was hopping. Everyone was into every match. How exciting!!!
  • USMCdevil05
yea it was awesome! Thats how the Hamilton and Teays duals used to be in my day! It was so amazing to wrestle in that and get that excitment from the atmosphere!
  • keato5
Cville won the Kiwanis tourney this weekend....Not a great tournament this year, but they won easily. 8 champions including MVP Tyler Knul at 125lbs......Tigers looked good all through lineup
  • USMCdevil05
it's not MVP Keato! Come on you're better than that, it MVW!!!!
  • FIREBALL5152
Amanda didn't do too bad despite having only 9 wrestlers. I have team scores and Amanda placers only. Sorry.

  • USMCdevil05
good job aces. Those 4 kids should be very tough this year. The chenetski kid is oinly a junior this year i think?
  • Dad4Sports
I see that Logan Elm had a quality move-in....Andrew Macioce (senior) moved from Westerville North. Last year he was a D1 district qualifier at 119 lbs. He certified at 119 this season, but I don't know if we'll see him there or at 125 (or both)....
  • keato5
I here Macioce is going 119lb next tourney. He is a good wrestler.... Knul out scrambled him in the finals match. Bad News for C-ville Knul hurt hand at practice could be out for a few weeks. Tigers have depth in those weight though so it shouldnt hurt them to bad.
  • USMCdevil05
Quality move in. Good luck braves. Anyone know where the results for cvilles tourney are?
