What are the odds he coaches again in about 3 years?
What part of this is him not agreeing how that mess was handled by OSU and his 4 game suspension?

No one knows but him. I hope that debacle doesn't cloud his memories of his time here. It was a total joke and he unfortunately got caught up in it. The whole thing was a result of a part of our society that is going terribly wrong. It had nothing to do with him in my opinion. Of course it is hard to feel too sorry for a guy pulling down >$5 million/year.
Get ready!
I just want to know how Matt Butler rates his haircut when it's finished!

Probably well since he cuts the hair
Best wishes Coach Meyer and thank you for KICKING MICHIGAN'S ASS for 7 years.
Well how many players are jumping ship? My guess is that anyone who has any draft stock at all will be gone.

That is usually the case anyways. Urban and the program has been open about players opting to leave early. Haskins has been gone for months. I doubt this changes the calculations for many.
I'm a fan of this move. The writing was on the wall. Ryan Day was going to get a boat load of money from other schools, so OSU had to move. Plus, it seems like it was the right time.
This sounds just like Stoops and Lincoln Riley last year at OU. We see how that is working now. Sounds like everyone is in lock step on the move and it seems like Urban is sticking around Columbus and the program.
I'm so glad I already booked my tickets to the Rose Bowl to catch Urban's last game.

There are probably a few that are leaving early because they were given a high draft grade, but I wouldn't call it 'jumping ship'....I'm pretty sure Haskins and Dre'Mont Jones will enter the draft, but other than that, maybe Fuller, Arnette, and Sheffield--and more than likely Weber.
I am pumped for Day to take over. Maybe it’s wishful thinking, but I think he’s on the track to be a star.
I agree with wildcats20 in thinking that Ryan Day is going to be special.
On a side note: Anyone else think that is was strange that President Drake was nowhere to be found during the press conference?

after throwing both Meyer and Smith under the bus, they both prolly told him to stay the fuck away

I bet he does in a couple of years. His doctor will have found a way to "manage" the cyst and still coach. Not to sound morbid but the guy could die any day or live to be 100. If the latter happens, I think he'll be bored out of his mind and want to return if he can, physically. He's only 54 years old.

I agree with this. I wished Gene Smith had done the same as the president and stayed away as well. I think he was equally culpable for what ended up coming down on Urban. I'm not a fan of his.
I also and excited about Ryan Day. Obviously he is recognized within the "industry" and very highly regarded. I trust that reputation very much. Being able to have a capable coach who is already in the program step in takes away a lot of the "fog of transition" If Urban stay connected with Ohio State in some way, I hope he respects Day's position as coach and advises only when asked. I'm pretty sure he will act in this way.
I assume the players like and respect Day. Does anyone have any insight on this particular issue?
Maybe Haskins stays if he likes Day

I highly doubt it. Can't pass up being a top 10 pick
24 hours and 2 commits have backed off. Neither are ruling OSU out completely, but basically opening it all back up.

Yup.

Yeah; you have a coaching change and some recruits are gonna back off because Day wasn't the integral guy in the recruiting process and Urban was THE MAN and now won't be there. If they're interested in OSU and not just Urban AND Day is as interested in them as Urban was, they'll be meeting and the Bucks will still have a legit shot at landing them.
