Bauers playing in the dandelions out there.
Bauers playing in the dandelions out there.
Looks like Kluber may have a cold/allergy. Coughing, wiping his nose on his sleeve.
Cool story.
Walked in a run..........Time for a chat with Willis the guru.
Well, Kluber not at his best for sure AND the defense has given Houston 3 (maybe 4) extra outs, only down 3-2 .
Go Tribe.
Martin!
3-3.
Tyler Naquin with an RBI double. Tribe up 4-3.
I like the come back.
It gives me hope.
And Oliver Perez has Brantley down in the count but gives up an off the wall ball which Allen fields well to hold him to a single.
He is sucking.
Wittgren in.
And Wittgren finishes the job.
And he finishes the job in the 8th.
I am impressed.
Would’ve left Cimber in. Think he is our best set-up man. But, Wittgren bailed Perez and Tito out, and he is proving quite useful so far this season.
Lindor with a 2-run bomb. 6-3 now T9.
Underwood says Frankie “pops it up to left center......and it’s gone “. Rick adds “boy, that didn’t look like it would get out”.
But it did.
Still batting in the T9 up 6-3.
4 HR's tonight for The Tribe.
Hand with save #8. Tribe wins 6-3.
Damn....Tribe looking boss!
Tribe wins 6-3
Homers by Lindor,Cargo,Martin and Lindor again
Klubot not the sharpest
Cimber,Wittgren & Hand
Party at Jimmy "The toy cannon" Wynn's
Go Tribe
Jposted by Laley23I love watching him bat, because he has a great approach. Especially this year. But I’m stunned by his lack of power so far. RBI makes sense cause nobody is on bases, but the power is a bit of a concern.
Really, it comes down to hitting philosophy, and somewhere in the year that Carlos was gone, he changed or learned or implemented a more classical technique. That technique is more about balance, solid contact, and using the whole field. Think, line drives, gap shooting, high average hitters, who hit a fair amount of HRs.
Somewhere around 2007/2008 the dominant hitting philosophy switched to one that emphasizes maximizing hip rotation and torque rather than balance... achieving the correct launch angle, rather than level swings that stay on the path of the pitched ball. If you remember back then, suddenly you had some guys that you never would have thought to have power start posting some huge HR#s( Brady Anderson?) Everybody thought it was ‘roids’....
Like anything, the pitching and defenses adapted...note the extreme defense shifts employed today. The result is a lot of .210-.220 hitters with 30+ HRs. Apparently, computer analysis find this more valuable than a .280 hitter with 15Hrs, and a lot of doubles.
I suspect the best hitters are able to do both.... Altuve, Lindor, Brantley. I think Carlos is moving in that direction, and it is good.
4 pm game.
Tribe loses in ten on a Tony Kemp walk off against Adam Cimber.
Get the win tomorrow.
of course I'd love the W today, but I'll take a split vs the Stro's in Houston all day long...GO TRIBE!
