Game 2 starts at 7:10 and has Kluber (3-1, 1.96) vs. Ramirez (0-1, 9.64)

Game 3 starts at 4:10 and has Carrasco (4-0, 2.31) vs. Leake (2-2, 6.59)

Game 4 starts at 1:10 and has Tomlin (0-3, 9.24) vs. Gonzales (2-2, 5.56)

Just heard Tito talking about this and saying "taking no chances at this point in the season".  Wants him all good to go later. 

The game has started and it's 48 degrees, but sunny. I'm 50 miles south and it's 61. 

Clevinger mows down the Mariners 1-2-3. 

Clevinger getting rocked in the 3rd after 2 were out.

4 straight two out hits give the Mariners a 3-0 lead in the 3rd. 

Alonso had a 2 run homer and then the Tribe has battled back to tie it in the 8th. 

The new guy brought up is pitching. 

He struck out Cano and a pitching change. 

Gonna need to do it in the 9th.

Bah. 

We lost 5-4

I think that was his point. Kluber tonight. Cookie vs gasoline on a fire Mike Leake we should win. And he is predicting a Tomlin loss on Sunday.

Fun Fact: Cano is second on the all time homer list for 2nd basemen. 

#1 is Jeff Kent, who pounded out 3 homers for the Tribe in 1996. 

He went on to greater glory to finish his career with 377. 

And we are still winning now at 4-0 in the 4th. 

Alonso and Gomes join the homerfest. 

Klubot gives up 2 in the 7th. He's still pitching in the 8th up 6-2.

Yikes!  Kluber goes into the 9th, gives up a hit, and after 2 outs, Allen comes in and gives up a hit and a homer, but we hang on to win 6-5. 

Whew. But that's what winning is about. 

(Side note: Brantley now at .344, Naquin .292)

Naquin sucks (ignores fact he has hardest hit ball profile on team)

Brantley is really having a great start to the year. I’d really like to see a change at the top of the order with Kipnis.

Problem is Kipnis/Zimmer/Naquin being lefties. Tito won’t put 3 in a row. And Gomes would almost have to go into the 6 hole in this scenario since the aforementioned 3 lefties won’t hit 6th or behind Yonder. Regardless, Kipnis cannot continue to hit 2nd all year if this lineup is going to compete with the best in the AL.

377, but maybe some were not when he was at 2nd? This astounds me......in all of baseball...Jeff Kent.

........Laley: I agree with you on moving Kipnis out of the 2 spot.
