The Cards aren’t the Cards we are used too. Bullpen is meh. They have trouble putting together full games. They will take the ball oppo and some great defense. They will have 4-5 5’10 white guys that run a 4.4 40 in every lineup.
Arenado is close IMO to going off. He’s just missing. Molina has been out with neck issue….but should be back.
Go Tribe
Has anyone heard updates on Bieber and Civale lately?
Yep, Go Tribe!
posted by Al BundyHas anyone heard updates on Bieber and Civale lately?
Bieber got moved to the 60 day, and has only been out 40 so far. So at least 3 weeks away, likely longer.
Civale has a bullpen tomorrow (only fastballs), so he is getting closer, but Id guess still 3 weeks away
In three weeks we’ll probably be well under .500.
And Civale just moved to the 60 day IL. So, Tribe is punting on the season since he was injured after Bieber. Oh well. It was a great run. Just like 2007 haunted me until 2016. 2016 will haunt me until the next choke job deep in the playoffs.

I think this time will feel different. I've seen more bad baseball than good in the 40+ years that I have followed the tribe, but we always had the "wait till next year" when we threw in the towel. Sadly, the Dolans have taken that away. I'll still root for the new team, but it won't be the same. Pro football has never been the same since 1995, and MLB will never be the same after 2021.
Yes, and we are way back in the wild card race with Tampa Bay and Oakland the top two, followed by the Mariners, Yankees, Blue Jays and then us, a half game ahead of the Angels.

I think part of this feeling is because we know the re-build is starting. If this was all happening in 2016, we would be just as excited for that 2017 season to start up.
On the bright side, our FO is tremendous and the rebuild shouldnt be a complete tear down. Unless they elect to trade everyone of value under contract and completely restock the system. But the trades for Rosario, Reyes, Classe, etc (coupled with the development of pitching and Jones) will keep them from being the bottom dwellers imo.
The Guardians (lol) already have a really loaded farm system, and the inevitable trades of Perez, Hernandez and Ramirez over the next 365 days should strengthen it even more. I'm cautiously optimistic -- with how the FO has handled the impeding contracts with their studs to keep this team relevant -- that the rebuild will be just as compitant.

A chatterer posted about that in one of the other threads.
And some great in game comments! JK, I didn’t feel like making any either.
So we lose again.
The ship is sinking.

It's starting to feel like this team has quit. Dolan's announcement last week has sucked any enthusiasm out of team.

I agree.
And the article I’ve read about how the players are liking the new name……..what the fuck ……..you’re going to be employed by that organization and say you don’t like it?
Tribe up 7-2 in the 6th. Reyes has 2 HR, and Hernandez has 1.
Well I've checked out. Didn't even know we had a day game. Been focused on the Cavs trying to screw up the draft and trade out of Mobley.
Hey, we won!
Yay!

Cavs still in a far 3rd in interest. Browns start camp today, c’mon!

I grew up in an era where the hope was that tribe was interesting until Browns camp started. We seem to be back to those days.

Ive never been able to get into training camp. Call me when the preseason games start and my outrageous enthusiasm will take over aftre 1 completion ahha.
Meanwhile, Cavs are about to have a generational unicorn fall into their lap at 3, and all I can see are people clamoring for them to trade down or take Suggs.

I'd say that trading a starting position player to the team ahead of them in the division says that they're officially punting on this year, if the whole "moving their injured starters to the 60-day" hadn't already said that.

Hoping we see Zimmer in the lead-off spot the remainder of the year. He’s looked solid in the 3 games there so far.

I agree. We have to see if he has any potential left, or if it is time to move on.
