After a day off, Oakland comes to town for a 3 game set.

Game 3: Bieber 4-0 vs. Montas 4-2, 1:10

Yes, this is going to be interesting to see how he is. 

Lou Trivino, A's reliever from nearby Slippery Rock Univ, is now 7-1 with 1.49 ERA after being called up earlier in the season.  I am sure he will have some fans from Western PA in the stands.

Cookie gives up three in 5 complete and we are up now 4-3. 

I like that the Ks were there, but a few times he had guys 1-2 and 0-2, but they put the ball in play (the swinging bunt and bloop rbi single). Overall, I think you have to be encouraged. He is one hell of a 4th starter and if he figures it out again, a 3rd option. Crazy even his best won’t pass Kluber or Bauer, they are so good.

6-3 tribe in the 7th. Scrabble got out of a bit of a jam in the 6th

I feel the same way, and I lol'd when he airmailed the ball into right field on his pick off attempt....however, would have loved for him to be our backstop--his loss, imo

It was 3-0 after 7. Kluber was taken out. So then it was 3-3 and went extra innings. And Josh Tomlin was brought in for the 11th.

Reds gave it up with a couple of their top relievers.

.....and on my comments on Scrabble and his left handed relief pitching. 

MF is making 5.5 million this year with Seattle eating the second year of his 11 million contract. In addition, the Tribe picks him up on a half million contract for this year. 

He has 21 appearances this year, 9.1 innings pitched. He is a sucky left handed reliever who is only used in situations. 

End of rant.

If cheaper I’d try but relievers often have a two year peak span and then become far less effective. I’m not convinced he’s ever going to be as great as he was but still could be a pretty good player and getting out of those small parks in East could help.
